Stompgrip

am going to fit stompgrip to my bike. What do i use to clean the tank with before fitting them.
Yes i know it's a xj600s not the fasted bike but i keep hitting my b*lls every time i brake hard, as i where textile trousers.
have clean the tank but still got remain of duck tape on it,the sticky part of the tape.any ideas of removing the sticky part?

told u, mucoff to clean then cloth dry, no polish, just a nice clean surface, and maybe a hairdryer to help soften n mold right

try a bit of petrol on a cloth to remove remaining adhesive, anyone got any other suggetions to removing gunk off paintwork, without damaging it that is.. not sure if nail varnish remover can be used (without damaging the paint finish)

WD40 should desolve the glue without any damage to the paintwork.
