M6 - M74
« on: 06, August, 2010, 10:45:52 PM »
The top end of the M6 into Scotland has got to be the most beautiful stretch of motorway in the UK.
When the sun is shining, over Shap through to Dunfries and Galloway is breath taking. And there isn't much police action either, which is a bonus, unlike Wales.

It's shit when it's wet though.

Tell me about it, we did all the way from Oban to Kirkby Lonsdale in the rain in May, with the exception of the Loch Lomond area where the sun actually came out for at least 10 minutes, 9 days in Scotland and only one day of rain and only saw one cop car.

I'm still hoping to get up there one day.... it would be good to see what lies at the end of the M6 cause it can be such a bitch

Giant midges! It is a joy after having been eaten by them to scrape the wee bastards off my visor.

Honestly, Scotland has the most fantastic biking roads.

The neapsntatties are quite good too.
