Then we have coffee and a cake, turn around and come back

Hey jetstream, just worked this out, I'm up for this. One condition, no helicopter spotting at all....

They were hobby helicopters out for an afternoon out, not THOSE type of helis

Lovely day out, 430 miles.
M1 to Derby for coffee with a friend, into the Peak District, Via Gellier, Bakewell, Snake Pass, over Saddleworth Moor to Holmfirth, Huddersfield to see, washing lines in the front gardens, then on to Squires for a coffee and a pastie before filtering down the A1 with alacrity

I am definitely but defintely too OLD for that sort of ride.   Though I must admit to having done here to Gateshead in an evening to meet up for a pint before closing.  Though in our case we were staying in the pub where we were having the pint so that helped!
