Just got my toy insured for £184.50    That's my 2004 R1, with unlimited mileage, 3rd party to ride other bikes, fully comprehensive, protected NCB and incudes Class 1 Business use.  Adelaide are the recommended insurance brokers by the IAM for qualified Advanced Motorcyclists.
 
I'm extremely happy with their service, and the gentleman who was dealing with me, Darren Carruthers, confirmed everything that I required in email to me - an exemplary level of customer service.  Incidentally, the saving I have made with with Adelaide for my insurance is greater than my IAM annual membership which I have just renewed.

So go pass your Advanced, learn extra skills, then save money.  Simples

Alba - I think that they only guarantee to undercut and match policy content for IAM members.  You could always try and get a quote form them now, and ask them how much it'd be both without and with passing the IAM Advanced Motorcycle test.

Personally, I think that for what I learnt, the IAM membership and test fee was good value.  But when my insurance is cheaper by more than my annual membership to the IAM, then that makes it even better still.

ive just renewed with them. £78.50 for the fire blade fully comp and a further £78.50 for the SP1 Fully comp. I too can ride other bikes on a third party basis. Protected no claims discount also thrown in. £350 excess on both machines, no mileage restrictions. Happy days.
