Hi guys! The last time i introduced myself i forgot to report that i brought my motorcycle from portugal...It may have been silly but there's some sentimental value added to her...The thing is i need your expertise about MOT and road tax...The MOT was done without any problem but then i went to the post office and they denied me the road tax.I tried to get some usefull imformation from the DVLA but nothing is clear about what to do...Can someone tell me what to do?I really don't want to have problems with the autorities. Thanks guys.

To tax the bike in this country you need a valid MOT certificate, insurance and the registration document for the bike - if you were missing any of these then you would not be able to get it.  I suspect if you brought the bike over from Portugal then the registration document (proof of ownership in effect) might be the problem.  How long have you been here?  I am fairly certain that with foreign vehicles you are OK for six months but after that time you then need to register it with the DVLA and get a certificate and then you can get it taxed.

You are not the only one that has problems with getting the road tax for a bike.... my local post office denied that they issues them despite me getting tax from the very same branch for my other bike only the week before.
People will forget what you have said and they will forget what you have done--but they will never forget the way you made them feel.
