Well done guys and gals - have been looking at some of the news reports - you made the headlines.  Great effort - loads of money raised, good message of support sent plus some really good publicity for bikers too!   ;D ;D

A fantastic day, never experienced anything like it, all the locals waving at us and holding their hands out, and cars going the other way flashing their lights and beeping in support. It was a real day of unity. Also, I found, quite an emotional one.

Well done all USRs, it all seemed to go like clockwork. I know you put a lot of hard work into this but you can rightly feel extremely proud of yourselves for the fantastic job you have done today.

The eyes of the world were upon us, and thanks to you guys, it seems to have worked out well.

I knew that there were a lot of bikes but it was difficult to really take it in from the front, they just kept coming.  I sent Trisckie to get tea and her arms nearly fell off after carrying a full tray for 15 minuts from back to the front.... she hot wired the car for the next go ;-)

...and then a half assed Daily Mirror 'journalist' ripped the shit out of it.

Several groups calling for boycotts, sackings and capital punishment (may have made that one up, but it may come to pass) on FarceBook about it.

i am truly amazed about this ride, not my cup of tea but hey good for you.
i am also seeing the point of the journalist in the daily mirror, sorry to be unpopular but he didnt really 'rip the shit out of it' he made a valid point to say that people in the village may have been quite disconforted by the 22000 bikes rumbling about and for sure most of them just did it for the sake of the ride.
i do agree that people sometimes masquerade their real objectives behind 'charity purposes' and this is exacly the reason why i didnt partecipate or would not participate in this sort of things.  maybe would have been better if people walked through the village in their biking gear instead of riding through?  that would have accomplished a bit more popularity and a bit less criticism from the locals, just a thought.  and you would still have kept your integrity as a biker.

Not sure an annual event through WB would be appreciated so much by the residents. And Alba is right, that those taking part do so for a variety of reasons. It's the end result that matters. Did the event demonstrate our attitude as a part of the wider national respect for the residents of WB for their way of showing respect for soldiers killed in action overseas?

Does it need to be done again, or are there other ways of raising funds to support returning soldiers seriously injured as a result of the country's involvement in international conflicts and peacetime missions.

Seeing the photos reminded me of some cracking MAG demos in the early eighties.
I might be slow, but I'm behind you!

People will moan at anything and nothing. The locals weren't compalining when we forced the council to repair the local roads, improve the drainage of the the perma flood under the bridge, resurface the potholes, sign post the dangerous bend and create a new route for the farmer to take his cows out to pasture without blocking the road and getting crap everywhere.   I think the locals had been petitioning for months to get those things done and then a little ride made it happen.  Only one incident of a local complaining was reported and that was a nurse who was running late for work, so we put her in the middle of one of the 500 waves of riders.  She wasn't happy but it was the best we could do....hell, you can't please everyone.

A great ride and great work by the USR's, i did see Stem, Tricksy & Grandma through the day, unable to stop though bikes every where  ;)
Very worth while, made me quite Humble to the people of this small town, great respect for what they do on behalf of true British blood, was nice to get the chance to say THANK YOU, and would pay £50 to do it again.

As for a minority view, kiss my hairy .......
This was to say THANK YOU and the majority welcomed it.
