40 is the new 66...you can't travel all of the 'Old 66' anymore, most of its gone! 44 follows mostly the same route from Chicago to Tulsa in Oklahoma, then route 40 takes over... with some parts bypassing old towns & stuff that 66 went through.

You can drive a LOT of the original route still, just on 8 lanes instead of 2.

Indeed - more like 24 - assuming they did not sleep and only stopped for short stops!  ;D

Went on quite a bit of Route 66 when I was last in the states (1994), but I was in a 4x4.
Would have preferred two wheels.

If it's official - wouldn't it be 'fall'? ???
Or did you just anglicise it for us stuck in the old country?

Hi ya'll, how u dooin.

We are having a great time, although not sure I'm gonna trade the TL for a harley, oh our aching backs   :D

Quick check in on our day off in Albuquerque, off to the state fair and rodeo in a bit, went through a time zone yesterday so even harder to text without waking ya'll up   :D

BTW there is more than one Miami and the one we went to is pronounced Miama!!

We decided not to do a blog as it would take to much time, but a couple of guys we are riding with are doing one which we have contributed some pics to, it can be found here www.gproute66.blogspot.com

and that wasn't rain, that was not of this world, but we rode/aquaplanned through it like the brave/stupid brits we are....   8)

We have eaten way to much everyday, but this is America so why not.

See you all soon
Dianna and Tony

Organizing a wedding and a funeral at the same time was never in the fucking plan.
