1st thing to buy for your bike...
« on: 06, August, 2009, 09:59:24 AM »
Well, this is subjective but for me but what comes to mind...

 Crash Bungs or equiv

This is especially important to novice riders or those returning to biking after a break, i know of a few that have found out the expensive cost of replacing the odd panel on their new pride n joy because they dropped it while cocking up a junction or parking up.

 just my thoughts
Is a customer of West London SuperBikes ...

lol! i HATE crash bungs!  the cost of panels is negligible once the bungs have dug into the ground and snapped off, or caused the bike to flip.

of course, in a low speed off (more likely on city commuting) then they can really help

Braided hoses. I'm not a fan of the crash bung either.

Ear plugs! Best performance accessory pound for pound that I've ever bought.

Another thing to do is make friends with the site where lots of people who own your bike talk. It's a great way to learn about things about your bike and parts when you need them  ;D

Crash Bungs or equiv

Yup, they were recommended to me as well. And I am jolly well glad that I have got them, as I have tested them on both sides... They work!

And also a big-bad-derrier Almax chain with ground anchor.

Crash bungs.  I hadn't dropped the GS too many times but when I got a faired bike i decided to "bung it".  Just as well as i dropped it right after RO fitted them for me!  Couldn't be helped  - well it can now because I know not to use that exit where I can't put my feet down!  Saved us a fortune!   ;D

big chain and ground anchor. No point adding any more value to the bike if some scrote can come along and steal it!

A few other important bits that haven't been mentioned above already. Puncture repair kit. Breakdown membership. I know that with the latter you shouldn't need the former but a repair would be quicker.

is that thunder i can hear?

Brake levers  ;D

Pop a roll of £1 coins under the seat for all the tea you need to buy

1. Almax security chain + ground anchor.  I actually had bought these and installed them before buying the bike.
2. R&G crash bungs.
3. Puncture repair kit.  About half the size of a video cassette, therefore easy to carry or store under the seat.
4. Cigarrette lighter adapter.  Wired to the battery and left under the seat, used to charge up my mobile and SatNav receivers when I'm away.

Loud cans!  to help with the daily commute of course  ;)
Loud cans save lives.

OK tell me how a boy can grow two jacket sizes in 7 weeks??  or did Moss bros fuck up the measuring???? and its the day before the wedding..

Organizing a wedding and a funeral at the same time was never in the fucking plan.
