A van coming towards you on the other side of the road?.
You didn't see it whilst you were accelerating towards it?.

I'd be advising that polish driver to put a claim in!. :D

Lol Yeah, I agree.. I am very fortunate that he didn't, considering it was my lack of anticipation, expecting a van coming towards me on the other side of the road to suddenly, without any warning turn straight into me
Very poor judgement on my part eh ;)

Yep, I would urge that drunken uninsured polish driver to sue you for shock and discomfort. Jonny, you disgust me with your lack of respect for other road users, you just dont consider how it would make other people feel to see you crippled in the road, tut tut tut.  ;D

the word - phrase we're all struggling for is 'negative probability' (say it out loud in a public place and watch what happens)

Interesting posts. I look back on some of the 'accidents' I was involved in when I first started biking (I've been riding a motorcycle 26 years and never owned a car) - and realise that now I would probably not have had the accident/incident as I am now a more patient experienced rider and would 'see' the dangers. Which means they were not accidents, they were incidents. But they were never my fault: I got money from insurance on each case. And yet if I am saying that the more experienced rider in me would now avoid similar smacks, should I pay my money back to the insurance companies since it must have partly been my fault for not being experienced enough. Ha!
