"Is there an issue here?"
That is a very good question Matt. I'm going to lay it on the line here and slap my hands Mods if I'm out of order.
Are you just here to advertise your London bikers website and those things that are run by the group?
If you are then please put something in the title of the post as I'll know what not to look. Maybe a little bit OTT but I'm not that interested in things from that site (unless things of great importance like the Unityride).
If you are here for the better good of TLB then I'm sorry and I'll get you a tea the next time out

Actually in this case I'm here to advertise something that I hope will help all biking groups in London - not just an LB thing - in fact I've gone out of my way to make something that all bikers can use not just those from LB.
The calendar isn't about LB and TLB it's about all the biking groups in London, all the bikers in London.
I've come over here with an open mind and hopefully something that can benifit us all - I'm trying to build bridges between LB and other groups - TLB included because I think we need to all stick together.... even if some people don't think that's worth while.
You only have to look at the membership lists of both sites to see how much of a cross over there is - let's just work together on some stuff and be happy to go our seperate ways on other stuff - common sense should prevail.
Tea? Milk no sugar please. Hopefully I'll see you on the France trip that YaBDIB is organising - we've also posted it on LB now (at YaBDIB request) so hopefully it'll be a really great big ride - and acutally that's a really good point - for me coming over here shouting about LB stuff - there is nothing stopping you - and in fact I'll help you and support you as much as I possibly can - coming over to LB and shouting about the stuff that you are doing here.

Matt, I think the part that I find hard to accept is that most of everything I see coming from your site is all about the advertising of the site and marketing of the brand name. This is all good for you but I'm not that interested in it.
As you will see on this site we have a TLB clothing area, fleeces, hoodies (for the chavs and yes Burger and I have one
'> ) and other things that have TLB on them. But you never see anyone pushing people to get these things for rideouts or drinks nights so as to adveretise the site. The site (IMO) is about people getting together and riding their bikes first of all and everything else second.
Maybe I'm wrong here and our site will follow in your sites footsteps with the pushing for advertising the brand but I HOPE NOT!. I have met a lot of great people on this site and I have learnt so much about living life and riding my bike from these people. I hope that we stay on the course that we are on and things stay the same as they are now.

Sorry Matt I get the feeling that no matter what I say you wont agree.... so let's just leave it... this is a calendar for all bikers in london it as nothing to do with it being an LB thing or a TLB thing - it's for everyone - if you can't see past that then I don't see what else I can do?
See you on the France trip :-) Perhaps I'll buy you a cup of tea.

If anyone decides to put any rides/meets from our Days Out section onto this public calendar, can you please say in the thread arranging it that you have put it on there please.
I personally won’t be attending any rides that have been put on there, as I like to know who and how many people I will be riding with.
I don’t want to turn up somewhere thinking I’m going for a ride with half dozen mates, only to find a load of people there expecting to come with us because someone decided to make it a public rideout without telling anyone…
I’ve ridden with people that have turned up unannounced before, and it been a nightmare…
Thanks

Can see your point tehre Yeti and know exactly what you mean. I would think the calendar would be for non forum specific rides - I certainly would not want forum ride outs with a few mates put on there!

That's not the sort of forum specific ride i meant. I would be extremely peed off if I put a note in ride outs re say a meet at High Beech for a few forum buddies and someone put it on a public calendar for all to see. Whereas last year's Memorial Ride was posted on at least 5 different forums.

but isnt that how the French trip started out??....
it may be a bit further away and posted a bit in advance...but isnt it the same as a high beech ride out with your forum buddies ?....or it might be taken as a membership drive...
sorry if i've got it wrong

i think the French trip spread because people wanted it to do so. But people still have a right to organise small ride outs and to know who is going to turn up and to not want a bunch of total strangers turning up - I think that is what Yeti was getting at and i agree with him.

Does that sound ok
