Was serious here too (about 4in/hr peak) but relativly short lived. Sun has fought through the clouds and it's blinding now.

We've just got up and I am glad we couldn't go as it is absolutely chucking it down here and looks set to stay like that for hours!
Hope those of you who are going get some clear skies.

These are the hardy few who left on the ride that nearly wasn't, partly due to weather, and partly due to my neighbour backing out of his drive in his white van, between parked cars, who just did not see me!

Westie did a U turn and decided to come after all, as the weather improved and rode off into the sun to meet BB & Tallguy at Goodwood.
Sadly I was confined to the car, as the bike is now even more secondhand after close encounter with neighbour, and I am joining Weaver in the aches & pains department. Someone out there is out to get us!

Blimey sorry to hear of your incident with the neighbour, Grandma. So you went on the ride anyway, but by car?
I hope you and your bike are not too badly damaged. Have you had yourself checked out in A&E?

I made it and it was good to be joined by Tanya
and snotty Simon.
Tanya is either not looking after him properly or wearing the poor guy out.
The rest of the crew arrived fashionably late not not too wet.
A bite to eat and drink a quick natter and then it was time to head home again.
That is one ride home I would not like to repeat again any time soon. The wind was gusting 40-50 mph and I was heading into it. I had a few moments where I laid the bike over and then had to pick it up quick as the wind dropped. Slowing down made the effect worse. I knew things were getting hairy when the artic trailler up ahead suddenly slid sideways and the inside wheels came off the ground. Radox bath for me and dry cleaners for my leathers.

Hi Grandma, we did our best to take on your mantle, despite a cornernan and our best efforts we lost everyone at the A 29 roundabout.
Quick dash to the next roundabout and back got everone in line but we were fettered by having only one cornerman in tow and a lack of corners to drop him on so we just had to stretch out the gap! We reformed shortly afterwards and arrived at Goodwood in glorious drizzle. We took full advantage of the tunnel.
Good lunch spot delicious food at bargain prices, shame about the clientel.
