Visited Ian very briefly today; got lost on the way & didn't arrive until just before end of visiting time. Big thanks to Peter from Steel Horse Motorcycles on Purley Way for the pile of custom bike mags, hopefully Ian will enjoy reading those.

If anyone decides to ride there en masse then try to park to the left of, and close to, the helicopter landing pad. He will have a great view of your bikes from his ward window which is handily right next to his bed.

no Prob regarding the ride out, just let us know your thoughts Sue. Speaking with folk on Friday night the suggestion was made that the rideout start from The Ace, and head to your home, we can piss the neibourghs off instead '<img'>

Hello Sue and Ian - I have only just seen this as I don't come in here as much as I used to, but was dreadfully sad to read this, and then mightily heartened as the thread progressed to read the good progress Ian is making.  My love and thoughts are with you both!

I strongly encourage people to visit him. Its easy to find Ian's ward - just go through the main entrance, up the escalator, follow the orange signs to the far end straight ahead, then turn left and the lifts are on your right. Up to the 4th floor and follow signs to Harvest B Ward. He's at the far end on the right hand side.

Bike parking is very convenient - just ride up to the main entrance, turn right and you will see a shelter over an area of pavement amongst the disabled parking bays. You can park right under that shelter, about 50 yards from the main entrance. Its not strictly a bike parking area but another biker who was leaving as I arrived told me he had been using it regularly with no problems.

I'm sure Ian would love to see you and as I mentioned earlier, it should be good for his recovery.
