i stupidly went to work this morning as it wasn't too bad at 4am, although i did borrow bec's car. Now i'm at work. No buses are going out in the near future and the snow is getting deeper. How am i going to get home! Where are the blooming grit trucks when you need them! Just been told i can go home 5 hours early! It's gonna take that to get home!
Btw the buses are off the road because a bendi was wrapped round a lamp post in it last night

I went into work, only to be told to go home.
Took me about twice as long to get there and back. And then I couldn't get the car back into the garage, wheels just kept on spinning, but had some help from some kids who were having a snowball fight.

About six inches here (snow that is

I was getting ready for work this morning, then got a phone call from the boss - don't bother coming in, all postal deliveries in east London have been suspended, if they're not going to deliver, we can't drive round emptying the post boxes.
What p****d me off was last night, left the pub around midnight, cab drivers in the nearby office wouldn't go out, so I waited at the bus stop for around 1/2 an hour, kept seeing buses going past blacked out and not stopping. Eventually realised I wasn't going to get home that way, so had to walk.
Saw lots of people waiting at bus stops, unaware that services had been suspended. What muppet took the decision to stop all services without warning, the roads were still clear at this time, must have been hundreds of people stranded!

Btw the buses are off the road because a bendi-bus was wrapped round a lamp post in it last night
Basically, the decision was taken to take the buses off the road in the interest of public safety. Again, it's mostly the bendi-buses fault as they are liable to jack-knifing!! Then after they were stopped, the roads got flooded with snow and no bugger cleared the roads so the buses couldn't get out of the garages, a lot of the garages aren't alongside main roads.
Anyone remember snow in 2002/2003. I remember driving a bus in snow about that time and losing the back end at about 5mph as I turned in to a bus stop, then turning the wheel out again to straighten the bus up again, and the handful of people on my bus thought I was fantastic, the person at the bus stop had a bit of a walk though. I'm not sure the drivers now are up to the same standards unfortunately!!

Had a wonderful day on Lloyd Park in Croydon. There's a big crater left over from a WW2 V1 flying bomb, its got steep sides which are perfect for toboganning down! Lots of us were having fun there, kids of all ages

well i had a great day, got my snowboard and me and a few mates found a hill, then build a 2 foot high kicker (a type of jump),
we derserve this kinda fun once in a while, we get to act like kids again, i saw whole families out today, and was nice to see it,
as much as i really want to go back to work and finish the job im on, i do really hope we get more snow tonight so we can all have one more day of fun and being kids again,
so if you have a hill or a field with a slope near you, go play on it, get a bin lid, an oven tray, even a cusion wrapped in a plastic bag and enjoy the day
remember, we dont stop playing because we get old, we get old because we stop playing
