You gotta try the B3081 from Shaftesbury down to the A27 some really nice roads with a good surface ... Watch out for leaves and Damp Patches though.
Starts or Ends with the famous ZigZag Hill and a blast across the downs ... lovely

If it ends at Zig Zag hill then take the lower Shaftsbury road through Blandford and pick up the Wimbourne road taking in Bradbury rings. It's a fantastic roller coaster of a road which even in the wet was enjoyed by a few London Bikers far too long ago.
I'm sure you guys 'n' gals will be down next year for a blast.
