We pay these people ya know

It winds me up that I have to live and pay to be in a bureaucratic, disorganised, egotistically led country with a police force so thick and disorganised it bends the mind.

I got 6 penalty points about a month ago and I had to leave my license with the courts who said they would send it off to the DVLA. Three weeks later I still heard nothing but I get pulled over for being on the phone (twat I know I am) so I get another 3 points and told to bring my license into the station.

I think o bugger no license yet but the very next day its lying in my post box having come back from the magistrates with hand scrawls all over (not sent to the DVLA been sent back to me) so I thought no worries, I can present this now to the local pig shop.

I drop the license off with them and they keep it telling me they will send it off for me so off I toddle.

Today I get a letter from the DVLA telling me that they have received a letter from the court saying that I have been given points and as I have not sent license in they have suspended it from yesterday.

So I call the pigs wh tell me they have sent it by post (not recorded) and the guy who sent it is on sick and wont be back for a while. I have spoken to the DVLA who have told me to put it all in writing to explain that the police have lost it and they will consider it an appeal through my local court.

Another wonderful example of our civil servants doing their best, throwing sickies, posting things in the bin and not giving a general toss about anyone elses life or work.

GOD BLESS BRITAIN AND ALL ITS TOSSERS

It seems harsh to give you all those points, on top of the injuries you received. I don't know the details and I know this has been to court but presumably you have considered appealing against that?

People will forget what you have said and they will forget what you have done--but they will never forget the way you made them feel.

The prob is I have had so many bad experiences with the police it kind of gives you a certain perspective.

For example, I was in a police car last year, going down the station to "help them with their enquiries" and the copper put the blues and twos on and drove like a complete numpty to get back to the station as fast as possible simply because their pizza had arrived ffs....

It's the old apple-barrel conundrum. When you have bad experiences of your own, it's very easy to conclude that all are like that (which of course they are not, but some certainly are).

Riding home from work a few weeks ago we stopped at the pedestrian crossing opposite Streatham Station, near the ice rink. Lots of pedestrians were crossing, including children and elderly people. Then suddenly we heard a siren start up and a police van that had been waiting in traffic going the opposite direction suddenly swerved into the middle of the road and raced towards the crossing with no sign of slowing down. Everyone had to run for their lives (including a very attractive young girl, which I suspect was the reason why they did this) and as the van went past us I could see the two police in front were pissing themselves laughing, obviously they had enjoyed doing that.

Hardly a way to win hearts and minds '<img'>

That sounds well $hit mate '<img'> . If you had brown hair you could use my licence as I've got all 12 to use up. Lets just hope that one of the twits down there makes good this screw up '<img'>
Hope you are making jokes and have a smile on your face my Danish diplomatic friend. Long may your memory live!

Don't think it's case closed, I'm receptive to some positive vibes from any coppers out there to prove me wrong and come up as a good apple, just my entire experience in all my life has been not very positive and at the end of the day I ride my bike with illegal plate and can, dark visor when i think its necessary and prob a bit too fast at times, well most of the time...

The way I want to live my life as a biker prob isn't ever going to be compatible with a coppers viewpoint, just a fact of life really "innit" as they say "dahn sarf 'ere", apparently or something.

I am glad to hear though that the police are actually punishing people for being on the phone whilst driving. The amount of people that have nearly knocked me off doing it. Hopefully it will discourage people from doing it.

Im a sod Terry, I pick up the phone when in the car and when Im on the bike I take people's wing mirrors off when I see on the blower, Dual Standards eh? '<img'>

I have a hands free kit but I got done for pressing the buttons on the phone to make the call when they pulled me over, so not technically on the phone just using it so hands up.

But thats not my gripe, my gripe is that they have lost my licence.
