Had another set of tyres fitted by Mick down at Essential Rubber in Dalston - and definitely a top service!!!
No hassle, no waiting and a good price to boot!
Highly recommended.

Chap at work recommended them to.
Helped him out last winter when he had a run of nails in his tyers over a couple of months.

Used Essential for a new rear, great service and really good price using my Go-Star discount.
We really should try and arrange for The London Bikers membership to get discount rates as well. I'll have a word next time I'm over that way, or if anyone knows the owner perhaps they can approach him and ask.

On Saturday, 22nd May, I caught a puncture after doing only done 625 miles on this tyre, and I was off to Brighton the following day too. I didn't really want to go there in my car. I went down to Essential Rubber, arriving there at 5:31pm, when they close at 5:30. The owner, Mick, didn't give me any grief when I asked "Is this too late for you to deal with?", he just replied "You'll have to ask me nicely." with a dry smile.
I'd caught a nail that had gone in at about a 45 degree angle, and he said that this ideally shouldn't be repaired. He didn't have the tyre I wanted in stock, and he repaired the puncture, but said that I must keep my eye on it though. So after delaying him from getting home to his family, a got my wallet out, but he said something like "No mate, don't worry about it.". So I gave him a £5 and said grab yourself some beers then.
Be assured, Mick will always be my first point of call for simillar future business.
Thanks Mick

If you or Dodge can fit them, see what price Alex can get them for, just going for another Diablo for the rear end of mine, looks like I'll get 6,000 out of it and the front is still looking good.

A guy at work recommended Mick and the guys at
Essential Rubber
to me. They are a good old-fashioned work shop… what ya see is what ya get! Although their business card pinned above my desk at work has raised a few eyebrows!
'>
No frills, no mess, no bike sales… just a workshop and good service. And have you seen their calendar? (Psst… before you remark about the girls in the pics, I should point out that they are all friends, wives, & girlfriends of the guys in the shop!

what about full services and general work, what's a good place to go? Not knowing much about bikes I'd rather go to a place you guys know and can say, hey I'm with the london bikers, and I'll know I'll be in good hands:)

IS this shit even possible??? WTF, I swear it looks like intentional to me but not sure.

personally, i'd pull that out, fill the tyre with some tyre weld, and get the tyre replaced. any decent tyre bloke would refuse to plug it.
even i wouldnt ride on that, so it must be real bad!

Damn it they are only open until 5:30 crappy... might need to drive slow until Friday as I have the day off, not sure if I can make it to them from Holborn in 30 minutes... could do it but then how long will it take for them to change it? They might curse me for getting there at 5:25
