I re read what i had previously put in another thread about this company, and have been quite unfair to them.
The delay with the certificate was not necessarily they're fault, and i wrote the previous article whilst i was pissed off! as usual, when pissed off, you only remember the bad things!
so, during the palaver with the restriction certificate, they started calling regularly to update me with progress, wether it was good or bad news. This is good, because it shows that we hadn't been forgotten, and i appreciate being kept informed. Customer care marks now boosted to 6/10 from the original 3/10...
good points: they were happy to remove a clutch nut for me when i presented them with a gear spline, i left it with them and collected it later that day with the nut removed. charged a very fair price.
i left half a brake caliper with them with a piston well n truly stuck in there, they removed it for me and i collected it later that day. again, charged a very reasonable price.
i left them a couple of tyres and a couple of wheels which they fitted on for me and balanced. i was dubious as there were no balance weights on the wheels anywhere, but the tyres were on the right way around (i had forgot to tell them which side of the front wheel the brake disc is), i figured i'd find out about the balancing when the bike shook all over the place at lydden.... but it didn't!
price was comparative.
i said in the previous thread that i'd probably only use them for getting oils, not true - cos they did my caliper and tyres after i wrote that!
so the whole certificate thing was handled very badly to begin with, regardless as to who's fault it was, but eventually they did chase it up and start keeping us informed and handled it better.
