Bj's anniversary
« on: 28, May, 2008, 08:21:42 PM »
Ok, Ang and Alba have asked what we are intending to do for BJ's Birthday, as many of you know the anniversary of BJ's accident is coming up and although some of us will want to remember and some wont they may also recall his father asking us to celebrate his birthday instead which is on Friday the 20th June.

We were suggesting to go for ride and head down to the A22 to lay some flowers and Ang suggested heading back into town for beers.

We are planning to leave work early on the Friday afternoon and head down the A22 to Nutley and have 5 minutes and have a gentle pootle back to raise a foreign beer for his birthday.

Rich, this sounds like a blinding idea mate, but what time are you thinking of leaving on the Friday, because that is our busyest time at work and I will be part of the team setting up Wimbledon, which will mean that I can't leave before 6pm?
Loud cans save lives.

OK tell me how a boy can grow two jacket sizes in 7 weeks??  or did Moss bros fuck up the measuring???? and its the day before the wedding..

Organizing a wedding and a funeral at the same time was never in the fucking plan.

Did anything ever come of the photo of Bj being put up at the Ace Cafe?

He's been on my mind a lot the last few days. I miss him.

To remember BJ this year I brought tickets to a concert in June and I plan to buy the T Shirt '<img'>

A sad aside - I have also joined LB and unfortunately one of their number died in a crash last week and his funeral is on Monday. His wife/girlfriend has now advertised two tickets to a concert she had been due to attend with him next Saturday, which she understandably does not feel able to go to now. I was struck by the poignancy of that.

Back to topic - I never knew BJ but will try to come along to this, and the memorial ride, to show solidarity for fellow bikers who have fallen.

it is now the week of this (supposed) ride and i am appaled of the lack of interest on this event.

at least 50 people attended that funeral and at least 30 were bikers we know, i'm sure everyone remembers the last words of his father in tears but if you dont here's a reminder:

'please celebrate my son's birthday next year'

i dont know where you people have been raised, but no offence where i come from this wish would be honoured no matter what.

since there has been no other suggestions, this was the best idea so far.

we will be going to lay some flowers on that bit of road on friday afternoon, departing from box no later than 4pm.

i think we've given you plenty of time to organise a few hours off work on a friday afternoon.

take care

I've been watching this... I am going to The Porterhouse for a beer because thats where I always met BJ for a beer.

I would go for a ride but like a lot of you work commitments will not allow.

So if anyone else wants to meet up in the porterhouse just off the Strand I will be there from round 7.30-8.00ish on Friday night having a beer for BJ

Id love to go might even sneek down on the vfr but dont tell Karen! lol...We can all remember him as we wish there should be no pressure to meet up.  I personally wouldnt take grudge if i died.  By posting about the anniversary we are all remembering.

I can have a beer and celebrate Bjs death or i can simply remember him going backwards and forwards up and down the mountains in Spain while we are all going the other way! lol..

People in cars meeting at 4pm from the other side of London in the busiest time of the week i wont be able to make it.  If im on the bike i would def come.  Just not sure if im aloud to drive let alone ride.

Cheers BJ have a good one '<img'>

I dont think Alba is having a go that no one can take a friday off, or make it or even attempt to make it I think Alba is a little disappointed that no one else suggested anything, I put a post up saying,

"should we do this?"

and no one said hang on lets do beers, lets do ride's, lets do XXX no one said anything, So with all Due respect, if you wanted to come, wanted celebrate a friends birthday then Im sure you would have suggested something more convenient to you, like a saturday?

I can meet you at Nutley 5 ish with Stuart Pilbrow the paramedic who stopped to help BJ, perhaps we could have a drink locally before you head off back to the smoke, as I will come straight from work and need to be back home as early as possible for dogs & horses, as Alex will be away at Donnington in TLB caravan ':p'

See you down there then - it will prob be nearer 8 than 7.30 because of getting home from work then having to rely on public transport
