I'll never forget walking into a dealers in the Peak District with Grandma, we weren't wearing our bike kit and if I remember correctly had just popped in to escape a shower of rain. A salesman sarcastically asked if we needed any help, and was somewhat put out when we told him most of his stock seemed a little underpowered for our tastes.

Not sure if anyone here has read "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" but in that, Pirsig makes a very interesting distinction between two types of people - Classical and Romantic. I believe that, similarly, women fall into one of two camps - the "ditzy" camp characterised, at the extreme end, by airheads like Jade Goody or the girls from the "Philadelphia Cheese" commercial from the 90s, and the "switched-on" camp characterised by the likes of Ellen Macarthur, who are resourceful, highly intelligent and fiercely independent. I believe that women from the latter camp - which comprise the majority of female bikers - make by far the best bikers. Although they ride fast, they are nevertheless safe, they do not take silly risks, and they are considerate towards other road users.

The sooner all sections of the motorcycle industry wise up to this and realises that its "unrestricted" future lies in female hands, the better.

Just my humble opinion.

Quite true. You can tell the difference by looking at their fingers. The Ellen McArthur type have their ring fingers longer than their index fingers. Test it out.

OOOooo...my ring finger is 5mm longer than my index finger....does that count???

A long the same lines, women in general are not prone to 'risk-taking' as the majority of men. Hence why we appear to be more sensible. Scientists believe its a genetic thing due to us having the responsibility of child rearing.   :!

I looked up my digit ratio (0.93), apparently I'm gay, autistic and aggressive. The good news is that I'm unlikely to get breast cancer.

Am I being unreasonable wanting a partial refund on this bike? Sorry to bring it back to the original topic (however I enjoyed the detour and am very interested in this t-shirt malarky - wot with me being the size and shape of a matchstick '<img'> )

So, they kept fixing the problems and collected the bike several times but it's just one thing after another.

They say it's cos I can't get on with it, as they've seen the way I ride off on it, but that's cos I've never had long enough to get to grips with it! And it's very very tall and I'm very short, so I'm always a bit tentative to begin with.

it's really got me questioning whether I'm right in wanting money back or should I pay them more for another bike?

Well stressed over this... '<img'>
