Plug cap replacement on fazer

Think that I might have a dodgy plug cap or lead. Yamaha want some ridiculous amount of dough when it just might need a fiver plug cap BUT can you just unscrew the plug cap, trim the lead and replace it or are they nowadays sealed so that I have to buy the entire cap, lead and distributor connector?

The perm is fine... its just the colour that takes some getting used to
