So we get to San Jose Airport at 5.30am this morning, a full hour before we are scheduled to fly to LA...
We check in...had the worlds slowest baggage checker.....took 20 mins......CRAP....
Dash upstairs to departures.....the line for security clearance is up the ramp, out to the parking lot & back again....
CRAP....
Finally get to the metal detector arch, Gingers new bionic knee sets off the alarm, and she has to be 'wanded'....
CRAP.......by now its 6.18am, flight is already loaded for 6.30 take off.....
Ginger dashes to the bathroom....next thing, I hear some woman (NOT GINGER) scream, next thing, Ginger wobbles out, looking all dazed.
She had gone down hard on her back, there was a large puddle on the floor, just inside the door....with NO warning signs about.....smashed her head on the floor, and was soaked in toilet floor water from ankle to shoulder...nothing to get changed into as all the bags were checked & she was VERY dazed.
CRAP.....
We managed to get on the plane after her getting looked over quickly & she endured the 70 min flight to LA sitting on 3 blankets supplied by the wonderful flight crew.
Deboarded the plane, jumped on the shuttle to the rental place, picked up the car & headed to Kaiser Hospital (Like BUPA...thank goodness for full coverage at work)
Doctor gave her a thorough going over & said she was lucky to not have broken anything, she's bruised & sore, and has a lump on the head.....CRAP
WHAT A WAY TO START A VACATION......
It CAN ONLY get better.....right?
Needless to say, the matter is not closed.
We had dinner this evening, and went to Disney for a few hours, Gingers sore but ok.....
