I wasnt gonna post details of it but next time you see me your gonna notice so i suppose its best to be out with it.

I went out on saturday night into hartlepool on some farewell drinks with some guys from the TA.
On the way back to camp I was with one other lad when someone came out of a side alley and walloped me round the face with a metal bar.
I got out of hospital on monday, 35 stitches from reconstructive surgery to my face and two teeth knocked out.
gums had to be sewn up and face still very swollen.

If i had been involved in a ding dong with someone i would probbably deal with it better but me and my mate just got out of a taxi on the way home, got a pizza and began walking the last bit to camp. I dont know who this bloke was, where he came from or why he did it. It was all over in seconds.
the law are looking into cctv and apparently i can claim some kind of compensation from somewhere, im a bit down in the dumps, more because of my busted teeth than anything else, eating is difficult as nothing lines up anymore.

the surgeons have done a pretty good job though patching up my boat race, ive written a letter of thanks to them.
I'll answer posts on here but No phone calls please, not till i can talk half properly again.

funnily enough, thats what most people have said, i said to my mate.. "you watch, they'll probbably give me £50 compensation"

Aw lee you poor old sod. I really hope you are feeling better soon and that you don't stay down in the dumps for too long.

Silver lining: at least you weren't in London where the bastards would have been carrying something, and the dental work would have been horrendously expensive. You never know, the ones that were knocked out may have needed some nasty painful expensive treatment in years to come with crowns and root canals and what not. They may have done you a favour? Am I clutching at some non-existent straws here?

What a c**t!!! Hope you get back to normal soon. As for the CICB they will give you a few quid to make up for your loss in work. Still dont make up for the pain. But then again as someone said think of those new good lokks you have.

thanks for all the good words. Today has been the first day where i have managed to stay awake the full day, ive discovered more teeth damage to the bottom jaw now that the swelling has gone down a bit, ive got a dental visit slotted in for next week anyhow, I only saw him a week back

Shit mate thats terrible! Edd got lumped round the head with 4*2 lump of timber last year. Jumped out on him because the previous day he told them to stop smashing bottles in the street. Really sorry to hear that mate and may he gets whats coming to him sooner rather than later. ':rock:'

I really sorry to hear about this Lee.

Unfortunately, if you don't see these things coming at you, you can never defend yourself. But if you get even a single second to see what's coming, then if you've been trained, your skills kick in at lightning speed.

I've just helped out with a 6 week self defence course at a local school. They are now looking at taking me on to run regular classes for them.
