Right then guys n girls, the Ace have now put up the date for this years toy run!

http://www.ace-cafe-london.com/events.....&y=2007

For those that have never been, it's a great opportuinity for a slow ride around London, without having to worry about the pain that is traffic lights!!

Seriously though, it's a good deed for local kids in hospital over the Christmas period, and a great opportunity to meet up as a group.

I think this is the 7th or 8th year TLB (In whatever form) has been attending, and it's alwasys a laugh, if a tad chilly! '<img'>

Kick off is at 1100 hours at the ACE CAFE.

See you there!

So, names on a list as always for those attending. And as for dress code - it seemed last year that TLB fleeces / hoodies were obligatory! '<img'>

The only real time we have is now. All other times don't exist. Yesterday is a picture-postcard of a time that died. Tomorrow is a mind's eye promise that may never come.

I should clarify - I believe the run leaves the Ace at 11:00 - so best to get there a tad earlier! '<img'>

Sorry for asking what you will all consider to be a stupid question but how does this work? Do we buy toys and give them to the aforementioned local kids after riding around for a bit, or do we get sponsored? Or do we collect money from people along the route?

I have heard of bikers doing "toy runs" before but never figured out what actually happens!!   ':stoopid:'

Xmas run 101 '<img'>

Buy a toy, for a girl or boy, wrap it up all nice, and mark on the outside if its for a girl or boy, maybe if an age range is applicable you can mark that on the present as well. When you get to the Ace there are 2 collection boxes, you put the present in approprient box. The organisers have people who will deal with the distribution.
Then all thats left is to join in the bike run to the hospital or hospitals as we raise awareness to the general public for kids in hospital over xmas, and enjoy the day

or did i miss anything?

The way it works is, instead of paying to join the ride out, you buy a present for a boy or girl, wrap it (blue or pink paper is good) and write on the present Boy, Girl and the aprox age group the present is appropriate for.
When you get to the Ace you can give the present to the team there, who sort the presents  into boy, girl, agegroup sacks and they are they are then put in a van which leads the ride so it can be at the front when we get to the hospitals, where Father Christmas and whoever would like to visit the kids take and hand out the gifts.
Easy really  '<img'>
Loud cans save lives.

OK tell me how a boy can grow two jacket sizes in 7 weeks??  or did Moss bros fuck up the measuring???? and its the day before the wedding..

Organizing a wedding and a funeral at the same time was never in the fucking plan.
