A warning
« on: 18, October, 2007, 12:35:23 PM »
Hi Everyone,
Just saw this in my mail and thought I'd warn you all.....

Can you circulate this around especially as Xmas is fast
approaching -
it has been confirmed by Royal Mail. The Trading Standards Office are
making people aware of the following scam:

A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel
Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a
parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a premium
rate number). DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam
originating from Belize.

If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you
will already have been billed £15 for the phone call.

If you do receive a card with these details, then please contact
Royal Mail Fraud on 02072396655 or ICSTIS (the premium rate service
regulator) at

I'm always shocked with these things. For you to be billed by BT then that will show that BT know that this is a premium number that is acting against the law. Hell, if I did not pay my bill they would cut me off. Then again, money is on BT making money out of it and while it's not costing them then they'll not give a flying '<img'> .

I think we should be able to get the money back from BT. Then we would see all these numbers being closed down '<img'>
Hope you are making jokes and have a smile on your face my Danish diplomatic friend. Long may your memory live!

Actually, the call costs you £1.50 per minute.
Therefore it would only cost you £15 if you stayed on for the full ten minutes.

Agree they are a load of bandits, but kinda wish I'd thought of it first. ':devil'
It's not 'IF', it's 'WHEN?' and 'HOW BAD?'
