I'd like nothing better than to high tail it round kent watching you taming that R6 but I'm hopefully off to pick up my little pup today so alas I will have to pass, weather looking ok too so you should have a good 'un
'>
When you say no string attached is that some sort of euphemism for not "having the painters in" ?

well we had a very good time me and MFaster and his son (at least i think we did), thank you very much for the company and the ride into the forest, i think the r6 is growing on me
:
and the strings meant to refer to the usual comments in rides threads, such as 'we'll be going this fast, this and that is going to happen', nothing to do with painters or favours, thank you very much

Glad you like the bike. I never liked it any way, In fact Im not that keen on motorcycling full stop so no skin off my nose. I liked sitting in doors tossing it off this afternoon, Was the best sunday afternoon Ive had in a while, I watched the football, surfed the web, found some nice porn and to top it off I did not write anything off or brake any bones? What would make it a real good night just to top the day off I plan to keep you awake with my wimpering and moaning about the pain and wait for the shouting to begin. HAPPY DAYS!

and you have to come out riding again when your well cos we all like riding with you and we'll be lonely without you

When I commuted by bike I got banned for 6 weeks and my bike was stolen and the only way I could deal with public transport was to go to the pub for several hours first, it's just fine then, hic...

public transport is much more bearable when it's free......................
The problem you have is you live the wrong side of London. It takes me about an hour on the tube to get to work, and 40 minutes by bike, but by the time I've unlocked the bike and got all my gear on this end, then found somewhere to park and chained it up and removed all my gear at the other end, there's not much in it. So because it costs nothing, and I can sit and read (I also never have to take the tube in rush hour) I mostly take the tube now.

I can park under my building and from home door to sat down infront of the computer takes just on 30min (without playing games
'> ). At present I leave home at 7:20 (get the 7:30 train) and am sat at work around 8:20 and that is on a good run. The real problem is that I catch a bus from Waterloo to Holborn and that is nothing but a joke at present
'> . Sometimes it's 15min+ to get here if we stop before the underpass.
Anyway, I'd ride for an hour to get to work before I'd get on a bus/tube/train for 20min to get to work! I'm not small guy but getting on a train at Clapham junction and you get a big push in the back which inturn pushes you into the people in front who turn and give you the look of 'what the fuck' pisses me off. It gets better when I turn around to say WTF to the guy who has pushed me to find out its a 5foot5 girl.
Even if I was paid to use public transport I'd pay my own way by taking a bike

I think the biggest difference in our journeys is that I don't travel at peak times. I pretty much always have a seat. Ad I live at the start of the line so not many people travel out this far.

Thats very true. I get on at Clapham Junction and Waterloo. Never had a seat and that takes in the times I've had to come in after drinking the night before.
I do get a seat from Gipsy Hill to Clapham Junction which is a lot better. But still lots of people pushing and at 7:30 in the morning thats not what you want.

so basically you're not average, you take the tube when its fairly humane. for majority of the people, its a torture and the conditions you're forced into wont be suitable for a rat (infact, they live underneath the trains where there's plenty of space, lol ).
thats the main reason why i decided to get my licence, at the tender age of 31
