I've had my Xbox about 4 months and i'm still navigating round the games...not seen counterstrike but playing Medal Of Honour 'Airbourne' which is quite good tbh..
finishing in 30 mins, country road blast through Winkfield etc then cold beer and fire up the Box for some GoW mayhem ...
nice!

I can't praise the PS3 enough to be honest, though there aren't a lot of good games out yet, quality is definately there and some excellent games are in the making which will prove the machine is a winner. I just got a 2nd hand copy of the Sega Tennis game and the F1 championship cars, and those 2 games alone are highly addictive and you don't want to turn the thing off until you are so knackered and have to go to bed.
I did tried the Xbox 360 which I borrowed from a mate but I still think its crap, to be honest.

Thanks for feedback Fran,
At TLB all feedback is encouraged whethere good or bad, everyones opinion counts even if you dont agree with it and it helps paint a better, bigger picture
Xbox360 has several video features the PS3 doesnt support like video extender for my multiple Media Centres, for starters. Does anyone know if there is an online social community either established or planned, i know that they already exist for Sony but have no details.
Cheers

As a first-person-shooter addict who loves tinkering with PCs, I never got into consoles. Had a go with a few but never really got on with the controls, and the fact I can't easily fiddle around with it under the bonnet.
For about 2 years I regularly played Counter Strike: Source (a fantastic game). I spent the whole of yesterday - until 3.30 am - playing the whole of Medal of Honor: Airborne, bought for me by my bro as a b'day pressie, and for which I replaced my gfx card especially. It was worth it.
Now very much looking forward to the release of Crysis, and getting my hands on a copy of Bioshock.
Be great if M$ release Halos 2 and 3 for the PC, like they did the first one...

Just been out and picked up halo3, been playing on it for a bit (on easy) and a couple of quick deathmatch online games. not bad at all! never played halo 1/2 before. At the moment, i still prefer GoW and GR:AW, but give halo a bit of time for me to get used to it...

Must say i'm hooked on 'Oblivion' on the PS3. Graphics are phenominal, game play is terrific.I have always had Sony consoles because they are what i prefer. Not managed to get on any 'Live' games though even though it is hooked up to the internet, i cant seem to work out how to.
Had a go on the mates 360 but could not get on with the controller.
I think both are brilliant but i have gotten so used to the controller set up of sony, i can't use any other machine. Sad really cos i would like them both under my TV.

I have to agree with the Old Man 100% both are great machines, great graphic but as he rightly says the controller on the xbox is a dog to get on with, and the PS3 one is just so much more natural. Even last week at Mr Riz house when I tried it again I was unable to play the game just because of the controller.
Whereas with my PS3 I am making a lot of progress as a rookie in the F1 Championship game, this game is bloody hard and to get a 1st place in quali is hard enough, but to actually win a race in the wet is something else, you have real pit stops where you have to change tyres, adjust spoilers, refuel, and if you knock another car you loose a front wing and your race is over just like the real thing

Gang,
caution advised on the Xbox and Halo3 if it prompted you to update the system.
I competed the game, then put another game in and bang.
screen freeze and the 'Three Rings Of Death'
Check out the Xbox forum and there is an awful lot of coincidental red rings after completion of H3..
mines out of warranty but fortunately MS have agreed to repair mine free of charge...
however, i have serious withdrawal symptons now and i'm clucking like a good 'un...

I always burn my updates for the PS3 to disc. Then if it bails out when i update it i can put the previous disc in to bring it back.
don't know if its the same for the XB

Nah, looks like it updates teh hard drive after the direct download, if this is all that corrupts and all MS do to fix it is reimage the hard drive, then all i need to do is work out how to do it also, then make several copies for future reference, if it works the way i think it does... now where's my ghost Boot CD

I have got a 360 and it is brilliant.
However, my brother also has one and both of his have died. The first fault was the disc drive then last week three red rings appeared by the power switch so its got to be sent off to Microsoft for repair
