Very glad to be a member. Trouty - a pack of my finest Jaffa Cakes is as good as yours.
'>
A bit about me:
I live in South Croydon, own a Bandit 1250, play bass guitar (but between bands at the mo' - anyone got a band that needs a bassist?).
Boredom is my biggest fear - hobbies in the past have included skydiving, scuba diving and lurking on desolate mountainsides.
Been riding for 10 years, 1st bike Yam SR125, then did direct access within 2 months of CBT then got Yam Virago 750, sold that last April, now proud owner of Bandit. Use it for fun and frills and daily commute to c. London.
1st became aware of TLB through MCN/Unity ad, I was there Sunday (from Box Hill).
Interested to know if there are any/many forum members in Croydon area who'd be interested in riding into t'countryside of a Sunday, and perhaps Saturday, and perhaps days I am "off sick"...

Thanks for your messages, all.
I hereby volunteer to be Chief Provider of Jaffa Cakes at Unity '08!
I shouldn't need training for that - plenty of practice/experience at both buying and eating them...

Welcome to the nut house.
Mines a Guinness please.
As you will notice I spent most of my misspent youth and most of the rest of the growing up in Croydon. Those were the days!!!!!

Hi Alex,
Fraid it might not have been me - we were only at the Ace for a short time as my girlfriend wanted to leave 'cos of things she needed to get done at home, and because she felt self conscious as she doesn't have proper biking gear - yet. Only people we chatted to were Roger on the BMW R1200 and his wife.
That was interesting as it turned out Roger was my ex's lawyer during a major property dispute we had some years back, which I won.
He was very nice (as was his wife), and didn't bear a grudge.
Indeed it was a "Unity Ride"!
'>
PS I did see Bikebiker as we were leaving (who I recognised from a forum profile pic), and thanked her for a fantastic day.

Yeah, thanks for the advice Yeti!
If a man can be bought by cake, he is a man after my own heart. And jaffa cakes are very motorcycle-friendly as they fit nice and easily inside a top box, along with the waterproofs and all the other paraphernalia my girlfriend and I seem to feel the need to carry around with us when out on the bike.
Here's a virtual J/C for each of you who have posted me a welcome message...

Great stuff!! Apart from Unity II, I've never been on a proper rideout, in 10 years of biking, but am really keen to do it lots now I have a bike thats capable of keeping up, and seems half reliable. I'm hoping to meet up at Brands on Monday but my girlfriend has asked some friends round.

They haven't yet confirmed so there's hope..

Dya know? Goddamit and what not you turn your back for 5 goddamn minutes and someone nicks your font colour. I keep thinking I'm a more prolific poster that I am lol. Gonna lose my rep as a nice quiet lass at this rate....
Welcome eezee, lets organise a date when we can take this into the car park.....

Hehe I would take you up on that THB - trouble is , you'd win!
I did try turquoise (my favourite colour) initially, however that didn't really show up.
Red shows up nicely.
Sorry for pinching your colours. Do you like Jaffa Cakes? If so, I'll make sure I am armed with a pack if we do meet up (and I hope we do). I hope you are susceptible to J/cake compensation...

I'm inherently suspicious of anyone who offers bribery in order to borrow my frocks. Still, I'm sure we can share nicely
