Thanks to everyone involved in making today a day i will remember for ages.
I had a great day, me and the Beast breathed a sigh of relief when we got home, both of us hot and sweaty with 150 miles done and if a bike could smile then my bike was grinning as much as i was

Great day - 230 miles in all door-to-door[1] (I thought it was more but forgot a journey made on Friday). Thanks to all who participated, and for those who help make the 'third group' so well chilled.
'>
[1] Did a sprint to OMD's and enjoyed a couple of group-ride circuits too, before twistying my way back to Ryka's and then home.

Sorry I missed most of you, spent most of the time driving round Southend looking for a parking place, stupid cages, also stuck in traffic on the way down.

I am really confused... wasn't the date set as 19th August??? Or is that next year? I did see lots of bikes yesterday in the city and thought damn it's the Unity Ride, so am gutted cause I forgot abou it and missed it.
So what is happening on the 19th???

Thank you all for coming on the ride yesterday. It was a hot day but was fun nonetheless. A big thank you to Weaver and RO for making it happen as without them it wouldnt be possible.
Thank you to all the leaders and tailgunners too. In the group that i was in, JimC and BMBob did a fantastic job. Stem and Yogibear with the advanced group and Weaver and RO with the intermediate group, well done guys.
Hope you liked the T-shirts. Well done to Terry for designing the logo. We still have a few left so those who couldnt make the ride, make a £5 donation and get a free T-shirt - what a deal!!!

I managed to clock up 243 miles. What a great day.
I was asked to bring up the tail of the chilled pack, with Jim leading, nice steady run, never went over 70 all the way.
Stem, Biker Biker, Si and myself left Sarfend heading for OMD's at Crawley. Don't ever tell Stem how fast your bike will go (we did slow down at Dartford toll crossing )
I don't think you could ever have a more varied day riding
LOVED IT TO BITS

Next year, I'm thinking the 'chilled' group might use more B and U/C roads - more fun and possibly a journey with more twisties and less unduly low speed limits - and less tankers! Just a thought, locals to the area might be able to input some ideas nearer the time.
Anything to improve the confidence, competance and enjoyment of those new or rusty in their riding.
'>
That might well fit the spirit of the event. Comments welcome, either way.

Jim,
We will be doing a different route anyway next year - RO and I will be doing some research in the coming months - it is going to be soooooooooooooooooooooo hard on us to have to go out on our bikes and ride around different roads and check out pubs and cafes to see if they are biker friendly, but we will take on this arduous task stoically!
'>
'>
Don't forget folks - still some t-shirts left - only a few to go so put your name down if you want one so we can collect in the dosh and get a cheque off asap! Only £5 and they are good quality - we know we were damm hot in Southend in them!

What a hoot! LOL I did wonder why Stem stuck to that speed.
A great day out, nice to see everyone, got a crackin pic of Riz K5 and Spider
The filtering into Sarfend was hotter than hell.... but how funny was is when that kid on the supermoto took us 'Off Roading'. Its cause Stem is gansta!
It was a shame that we couldn't stay any longer.... but the close group rider practice at OMD's was useful.

'> and a very good way to remember all fallen friends.
I'm sorry that I'm useless with names so a general cheers to all especially the organisers.
Had a great ride down tracking Stem through the essex twisties and even enjoyed plowing a wedge through the traffic for the rest of our group to cruise through, made easier by Tanya? showing the cagers what an exhaust should sound like, mines too damm quiet
Really hope to see all of you agian soon.

Welcome to you both good to see you've signed up, I was having about 6 conversations at once and was trying to get an Ice cream before Stem led the way to OMD's training day.
I can't take all the credit for the loud can tho..... Simon (another one ha ha) was there with backup on the VTR...... makes my Bandit sound like a purring cat
Bring out the noise lol!!

Was nice to see some old and new faces, always a pleasure Sam. Welcome Simon and Natalie.
Natalie-we did shake hands at the cafe, although you probably did that with another 30 people too so you'll be forgiven for the face/name thing lol! Glad you enjoyed the day, welcome aboard!
See ya out and about
