*explicit*! I enjoyed it, it was mindless, harmless and now its' spoiled, I feel guilty about posting in it, so I won't bother, as I've said it's spoiled now.

I wouldn't go as far as saying the whole of the site is spoilt, after all the people in it, are still a bunch of great guys and gals, the forum is a bike forum after all and as such it is a great place, bland and basic as it might look in graphic, it has the great potential of being raw, "to the point" and unpretentious like "others"

It is just the word association thread that ended being spoilt, some people saw it as fun, others loathed it. However it was the majority of those who liked it and posted in it that ended being on the losing end. But as the trout man said it was heavy on bandwidth. One option would have been to prune the start from time to time to keep just the last 10 pages or so every week.

So... it's not all gloom and doom.

If this was one of my forums it would never have got off the ground.

You add one word - say 10 characters (10 bytes, i.e. 10B)

Each web-page downloaded by each of say 100 participants takes about 10,000B minimum, i.e. 10kB, so that's 1MB of traffic for one 10B word added.

Data transit costs are NOT ZERO - although they may effectively be for low-volume forums, but say 4,000 words added to that thread might have been 4GB of traffic, and 40MB of storage (minimum remember!'<img'>.  It may have been a lot more, I was conservative in my guesses above.  IMNSHO a huge waste of resources, good riddance.  There are other places where you can play a (admittedly good) game like that without p*ssing off other members and those that pay the bills.

Just a GOG POV, YMMV, etc...

it hasnt pissed of many members only a few  and most of those that have moaned posted shit anyway so are we gona moan about every thread we personaly feel is shit  we will end up with no threads cos not everyone will agree and this is an open forum if it keeps some happy then its good if i dont like a thread then i dont read it

every one likes to put in their two penneth funny how the people that do less for this place ie: participate in rideouts partys serious posts or just helping with sensible advice to others here seem to be the ones with the most detrimental things to say about what goes on

i see people have been busy tapping away, either for, or against it...

so busy in fact, that no one has had the time to look for it, or even notice it!

It has been back on the board since about 11am yesterday. I have had to leave the 38 pages of corrupted data on it.  I dont know what will happen to those 38 pages. wether if you keep posting, it will overwrite them, or add to them? who knows. Page 92 is the last good page on it. Yes, i have looked at every single page.

see my previous comments. There was 38 PAGES of corruption that has had to be dealt with. So whilst everyones been busy moaning and bitching about me removing it, fact is it wasnt removed, it was MOVED. And it was back at 11am YESTERDAY, but nobody noticed as they were too busy moaning/cheering (delete as applicable). Yes, i have had to go through EVERY page.  Meanwhile, i have also been trying to sort out the photo gallery.

am going home now... night night
