I'm starting a topic on the growth of TLB over the time you have been a member.
For me its been great to be a member as I've had nothing but help from all around. And been happy to offer help to friends when I could. I have been so lucky to find a place where people are all different (so I fit in well) but yet we are all able to ride together, talk to each other and have a laugh. When I look at the post from a person I know I can just hear their voice saying it and this is what TLB is about. Not justing seeing how people write or what they write about. Its about meeting people face to face and having a laugh.
From the first time I met Si at Chelsea Bridge on a Friday in 2003 until yesterday on our ride where some of us got a little wet
'>. I have always found it fun to get out and about with all the people I've meet here. I know not everything over this time has turned up like a rose but that is life and from that we get to know each other that little bit more. From the little things to the big, when we look back in years to come I hope we all laugh and smile as much as I do.
I've just had a look at the names in the members list for total posts and it was great thinking I know you, you, you and so on. When I say I know the person I'm saying this as more than just a keyboard way and seeing what they post. But, I know I only know DM from the posts made. Yet my picture of a shy girl who hates cameras, loves new h0nda cars and lives in Canada must count for some thing
'> .
Anyway, just wanting to post about how I'm well halppy to have met all the people I have and long may we laugh and ride together

i know where your coming from though matt, theres a lot of good folks in this club... of course not everyone will see eye to eye but on the whole im really pleased with the mix, if you have a look thru the photos theres quite a lot of dishy women too,
but none of them are "stuck up their own arses" the girls give as much as they get, most of the lads have a warped sense of humour to some degree too.
i hate that though, i prefer just to be rained upon every day

Well I couldn't agree more.
When I joined, I had what could be described as the worst welcoming anyone could ever wish, having recently parted company on bad terms, with them next door, through no direct fault of my own I still declare.
When I got here they still wouldn't leave me in peace and a few elements couldn't help it, so they kept on digging deeper into my wounds, yet, I kept my mouth shut, (learning from experience, see?) I put up with every offensive remark made towards me. Of course it f###ing hurts, and it eats you from inside, but I guess some of it I deserved for strongly defending my ideals with fierce retaliations. I know now its not worth it. You might as well let them have it. No one wins.
Things are much different here, people really are friendly and they accept you for what you are. There is no class competition, no desire to be better than the other. I have only met 20% of the active members and I believe we get on pretty well and they are nice people.

I remember the first time me and Westie met some of the TLB crew at Boxhill in Sept 2005, we got there late, it was dark and there were two groups of bikes in the car park so we parked up next to one lot and saw some dark shapes around a picnic table when a booming voice came out of the darkness "Oi, are you pierced princess?" and that was our introduction to Scorps!! We walked over and were made to feel at ease straight away and since that time we have never looked back.
In fact Andycbr and me were talking about this in Cornwall last week and about how we are all from different walks of life and backgrounds and how diverse we all are but all with a common interest in bikes that brings us all together.
I for one have made some wonderful friends from the site and long may it continue!!

I joined after the beach party last year, as I wanted to say thank you for the fab time I had had. I had met a few of you before that up at the Bridge, Box and the Ace when I was down with Scorps. I was made to feel really welcome from day 1 (even if I am from up't norf)
As I have made such good friends over the last year my move down here in 33 DAYS has been made a whole easier

I have to agree. My first TLB event was the west country trip and before this I had not really done anything will any TLB members. I must say I have been on a few organised site ride out before now and never have I met a better bunch of people.
How everyone rallied together and stuck together making sure everyone was catered for in every way and I was so impressed by this. The rideouts were fantastic and the way myself and especially Karen was looked after was brilliant.
Cheers all!

Barrrrrrr
Well I was introduced to TLB by Redrat one Friday at the bridge (R.I.P the burger stall)
He told me all about the site, the camaraderie, the organised events, but mainly about Mr Rizla, who had the same bike as me. I joined and have not looked back since. I’m not really into the internet, and chat forums, but as people have pointed out there’s a real difference on TLB as we regularly meet and ride together. Since joining I have met some fantastic people, from all walks of life. People who without TLB I would never had met.
I too class TLB as an extension to my family, and have a lot of time for all the regulars (and the not so regulars too, PAUL!!!
'> I guess I’m lucky that I found TLB first, as I don’t feel the need to join any other forums as everything’s I want is under one roof here!
LONG LIVE TLB..

short ase here, Newbie to Riding after spending a disgusting nearly 16 years as a Pillion (no excuse really). I too came wandering after not to good experience and wished that I had came here first..
I have met nothing but great people, willing to encourage and help and even in Pen's case extend their home !! I for one feel that this is a family affair, regardless of who you are, your abillity or experience you are welcomed, you have many shoulders to lean on and a wealth of experience if you need advise, no one judges or belittles you or your opinion even in disagreement.
I feel very privledged to be in anyway involved. For me this is THE No. 1 Bike community
