Rick's Roundabout No2
Saturday 30th June 2007
3pm at White Lion Retail Park Dunstable (Behind Kentucky Fried Chicken)
Richard (Rick) Amos, 39 Years old, a roofer and Motorcycle Instructor's Instructor, was returning from a successful test pass with a pupil along Vandyke Road, Leighton Buzzard when a motorist pulled out, turned right across his path, then Stopped in the road.
Rick Died that day!
Rick left a widow, three sons, three brothers, his muvva and stepdad.
In court the case was dismissed!
The motorist didn't receive any penalties at all! No points No fine No ban No retest, not even community work - NOTHING AT ALL
As we didn't get justice for Rick we would like to pay tribute to him and honour "The Happy One".
We hope that this will help promote road safety and create Public awareness to "Be Good to Bikers" as Rick would say "It's good for the Crack"
Please Please try to be there on this celebration of Rick's life. We are hoping for press and TV coverage too.
Thank you.
Mary Amos Cole
Muvva
I am passing this on to you at the request of Rick's Muvva, she wants nothing from any one, just as many bikers to turn up as possible. Even if you cannot come by bike, please come by car, hovercraft, helicopter, bus, taxi or even on foot. Just be there!
The plan is for everybody to visit the roundabout on foot as it is only across the road (the junction of Boscombe Road and Eynescourt Road) Then if enough of us turn up a mass ride around it. As it is a Saturday afternoon, there will be load of people there shopping, so I expect we will be noticed!
This event is being supported by the BMF, Motorcycle Matters (part of the Luton and Bedfordshire Casualty Reduction Partnership) and the Highways Agency.

I wont be there sorry.
I cant believe there was no justice for the fella thats just so wrong.
Id have thought that was a careless/dangerous driving case at least.
Unlawful killing on the roads is nothing these days it seems.
My condolences to his family, and friends, they, with so many others
just lately, are in my thoughts.

Riz,
Had a look at the route.
M1 to jct 9, left at R-About onto A5 follow stright into Dunstable.
At R-About, turn right into Church St, 2nd left Boscombe Rd.
Retail Park up on left.
Distance from Hanger Lane - Around 30 miles
Travel time approx 45min
Info from AA Route Planner.
So, if your still up for a meet around Palace, we could pop up to Ace have a coffee maybe meet some other TLBers then take a ride up ?

Lee, I'll be outside your place around 1pm? Give us time to get to the Ace and have a chat before leaving? I'm easy on time as only thing I need to do is watch some sport in the morning
