Neighbourly disputes...

theyre such fun, aint they??
we're at no. 3. Neighbour from No.5. sold house and moved out. the leylandi's in their garden next to our fence was killing everything, so i took the opportunity whilst no one was there, for a little wood-saw action. house No.7 was watching and asking what we were gunna do with the trees, to which i said i would dispose of them.
new house owner knocked on door the next night to say hello, and mentioned the tree's. turns out he didnt even know about any tree's down there anyway and wasnt bothered. he wasnt moving in anyway but was renting the place... to No. 7's daughter (funny that, it was them that called him to tell him... they could easily have called him before we did it to see if it was ok...)
so, tree's disposed of. No. 7's daughter now moved in to no.5. i'll call her no. 5 from here on
theres a fence panel missing. our fence, our responsibility. local supliers not had any panels in for a while. I destroyed/burnt the remains of that broken panel when it happened during those really windy days a while ago. However, no. 5 have found an old broken fence panel in the garden, and decided it must be ours and have rested it in the space, for a subtle 'sort the fence out' hint. Fact is, that panel is from the fence between her and her mum's place. So i'll replace that panel, and kick that broken one back into no. 5's garden.
TV ariel on no.5's roof has always had 2 connections - one to no. 5's telly, and a second coaxial which has always ran to ours. I've just had a call from Claire to tell me that no. 5 has cut the coax. I'm not sure where she has cut it, near the arial or somewhere on the run down the wall, i'll find out when i get home... bearing in mind that actually, thats not HER arial, but her landlords, i think she has been more than a bit unreasonable.
ok, there is some history... she used to live at no. 1. she sold no. 1 to her brother, and went to live in france, thinking she was the big 'i am' and that she was better than everyone else. now she's had to come back to UK to take advantage of NHS, and rented no. 5. so her brother is at no.1, we're 3, she's 5 and her mum is no.7. talk about stuck in the middle!
no. 7 were heard whinging about the caravan that we have on the drive... funny that, i didnt hear them speaking up when the council wanted to build houses right in front of her house... but they were happy for us to do that for them!
i'm considering getting rid of the caravan, in favour of a full on winnebago race transporter to park on the front... they'll be begging for the caravan to be brought back.
i predict more sniping and petty actions from no. 5. Fortunately, i consider myself as more intelligent and 1000 times more devious...
Anyone ever heard a ducati at full chat, on an open pipe, in the garden, at midnight???

not such a bad idea. after all, i do usually watch Sunday Worship on a sunday morning, but as our arial connection has somehow stopped working, i'll need to fill the time in another way

I agree that Sunday morning is much better than midnight, especially of you know that no.5 has gone out partying the night before
Hope your problems get sorted out without too much hassle but if you must retaliate, then here's a few
ideas:
Pour raw egg (without the shells = no evidence) onto grassy area outside their window, patio door or porch, or into any plant they have outside their front door
Sign up their name and address to as many junk mail comanies and catalogues as possible
This one is more direct: If you wash your bike/car using a hose pipe and one of them happens to walk in your direction, close the hose, lean your hand on the bike with the hose-gun pointing in the direction they willl be when they are 3 metres away from you, look as if you are fixing, polishing or inspecting something while keeping an eye on where they are, if they are in range, open the hose but make sure you are not looking at them but still being occupied by inspecting something, if you are bending down and your head is hidden in the engine, thas even better
Buy shit loads of crickets or grasshoppers and let them loose into their garden, preferably no.7's
If they really, really annoy you, put super glue into the keyhole of your neighbour's front door, in the middle of the Sunday/Monday night, they will have a nice surprise Monday morning

Being just round the corner to you Daz, I think we may need to call on you early one Sunday morning - the GS may not be over noisy but I am sure that between that and the Daytona we can raise a bit of noise. Silver Ball opens fairly early I think so Terry and Karen can perhaps join us in seeing if you want tocome out for brekkies?
BTW - don't forget to tell the Landlord about the cable being cut!

I like the Sunday morning gathering idea too, but this door bell idea is the best.

Darkmonster has done that one before. There a short story behind it, but that's for him to share. It was a great success if I remember right?
When your neighbours realise that you have heavy connections with "biker gangs", they may change their approach. Let's set a date for a cuppa on outside your house.

If I had a pound for every neighbour dispute I've been to I'd have a fortune. If I had a pound for each that was "solved" I'd have enough for a cream egg McFlurry.

Avoid any serious 'neighbour disputes' like the plague. They have to be declared when selling a property, and usually put the buyers off...

Got a couple of JW down my road so I could send them along
Was doing some house hunting round your way - should have let me know it was up For Sale - i could have brought it and then you could have had your neighbours complaining about more bikes!
However now I know what your area is like - I think I find somewhere else.
Good point by jimc although I had hassle with my last neighbours due to my dog - did not put the buyer of though

update: no. 1 seems to have joined in. It would appear that when i parked my transit on the front garden, the front wheel had strayed over no. 1's side by a good 3 inches. within 5 minutes of me parking, he was on the doorbell and asking me to move it. there are no marked borders between the houses, therefore it was 'line of sight' and i must say, it was borderline. Naturally, i just said 'yeah, no problem at all, i'll be there in 2 minutes...' if i'm not the one creating the arguments, then surely that makes me the better person?
bikerbeth - its not too bad round here. same as anywhere i guess. i work on the principle that todays 'kids' are potentially tomorrows thugs/hoodlums/bike thieves. therefore, interact with them and they think that 'yeh eez alright 'im' and your stuff gets left alone. hasnt worked so far, but then, it hasnt been the local kids doing the nicking of my stuff...
i was always under the impression that garden bonfires could only be lit after certain times of the day. However, a quick google revealed that thats not true, and there is NO laws or by-laws that say that.
Had a lovely bonfire all day yesterday, burning those old Leylandi tree's

tv arial problem sorted, and in time for WSB. i'm quite glad they cut it, as before they cut it, it was a bit of an ugly mess of cables running down there's and our wall. I now have a neat cable running up the wall, into the bedroom, into the walk in wardrobe and up into the attic to an arial.

I have so far done nothing unsocial (there was no washing out when the fire was lit) or unreasonable to fuel this neighbourly issue. As said previously, whilst they are causing the problems, and i'm not reacting to them, i'm the better person
