Just thought of another way of funding Anti-social detention centers. Family allowance....now wot da fugg is that all about. We pay for people to have babies why? I understand after the war we needed to replace those killed in action so we would encourage breeding but in 2007?

Surely the money shouldn't go to everyone irrespective of their financial situation. We use to save the allowance for Christmas...honest

Nah If you cant feed em dont breed em.

think you should run for mayor....I'd vote for you!  '<img'>

Question: what would any of us, do in these situations which today's young people are faced with? Also what are we, as a community doing for these young folk and the areas to which we live in? ( I ask, as I live croydon) Another question is, do we want to help? and do these (at times really horrid) youngest want our help, or for that matter anyones'? '' Hummm, now think of something funny to say...Lighten the mood, Ummmmmm:0

I lived in the notorious Easterhouse area of Glasgow.

Half my mates are dead through drugs and/or gang culture nothing funny about that but guess whos fault it was.

I was kicked out of bed to go and do a YTS for £30 a week..................by a mum and dad who have lived on benefit for the last 26 years work that out.

Every time I talk to them on the phone I get "you stick in at work son"..... furkin cheek!

Its all about having the choice put into your hands. IMO the children have this choice today and I think any child who says other is telling a complete lie!

When I was at school there were fights everyweek (yes a real nice state school '<img'> ), children being kicked out and teachers takinig time off work becasue of stress. The bottom line with this is in my class of 1990 (13 years old) I have mates who are doctors, high up managers, sports doctors, builders, etc and those that are in council homes or are/have been in jail. The facts are there for all to see that the people who done their homework, wanted to learn and came to school are all doing well. The others who put in F/all now have F/all! You only get what you put in and if you want to walk the streets at night and not study then its all your own fault!
Hope you are making jokes and have a smile on your face my Danish diplomatic friend. Long may your memory live!

How sad that we discuss disarming and Virginia Tech happens.

'<img'> '<img'>

In this country a missfit takes to his bedroom and 'tops' himself, in the USA he takes 32 with him.

How long before this happens in our country?

Stem, I can't see this happening here as the people that have the access to guns, are unstable and have a drive to going out before their time are not at higher learning. I may be wrong as I don't have stats to back up what I say but I think from what I have seen here over the past 6 years that there is a different view on guns here to the US and long may that last for the masses. We will always live with people getting shot each year. But as long as its like for like killings then I think we will never have a VT on British land.

I know there is a 5 year jail term linked with having a gun. But I'd also like a £1000 reward for those people who report on those with guns (maybe this already happens?). I also like the new police drive on calling/texting a line where you can inform on those people being complete twats. IMO you are a twat if you think its cool to walk the streets with a gun - unless your a cop.

Also what are we, as a community doing for these young folk and the areas to which we live in?

Well we are raising the retirement age to ensure that all the jobs they might have are already taken.

Also we are making sure they all have qualifications by telling them if they can write their name on the paper then they can have an A+.  (This might explain why a supermarket branch not far from here could not find an applicant amongst those who applied for a shelf filling job that could read enough to do the job! '<img'>   )

Hmmm then there is banning teams sports from schools because children apparently mustn't learn about "failing" being an option - well that will fit them for life won't it? ':crazy'

Not to mention we have made sure schools cannot discipline them to the extent that even if they stab a teacher they won't be excluded.  (This happened in a school in Hertfordshire - they have though lost the teacher who had a breakdown afterwards)!

Now doesn't that help?   Not a lot I guess.  Ah well back to the drawing board.  '<img'>

It already has, don’t you remember Michael Ryan who did the Hungerford massacre?

I can’t remember too much about it, but have the feeling that was in a school too?  '<img'>

The Hungerford incident was in the street if i remember rightly - or in a couple of streets.

The Dunblane incident which led to the restrictions on certain guns etc was in a primary school.

Riz - The comment re the Herts school referred to the stabbing of a teacher - I have met her - she doesn't teach at all now.   '<img'>  And no it wasn't me - I can have a breakdown for much less than that!  ':crazy'
