Ok People France is basically ready but just have a few final touches to the trip,

I not long ago put up a thread for peoples inputs and ideas and asked for help of everyone attending the trip , but never had much input about the trip and different riding groups ect.. as you are aware there was a meeting saturday before last for people to join in and discuss and help with finalizing details for France and how many groups there would be ect...

but never had people from our side interested so was left with no choice to plan ahead for others on there behalf,

So i was hoping that now you will help not just me but TLB,
and for all other riders spread your Opinions and let us Know how you would like the trip run like example groups and how many? I thought TLB were with me all the way on this Trip

Last thing i didnt want was TLB splitting up with each other when we  get get over there .

Help us stick together!!!!

If you can vote on what you prefer and if theres nothing that you would vote on then you can post here your opinion

So if you want to get stuck in i would be greatfull for your assistance as it would be very appreciated...

Hey Clint

I for one, would really like this to be on big group ride, all of us TLB's spread out with our mates from Londonbikers.
I'm not worried about going at a fast pace, that was never the idea of the trip as far as I was concerned.
It was the camaraderie of all us riding together that was the appeal.
You have done a great job organising this and spending so much of your time on it.
I've never done a trip abroad before, so don't have any experience to input, but if I can help in any way, then give me a shout mate.
Lets all get behind Clint and make this a great trip guys '<img'>

Not seen LB or TLB rides in action before so I might be worrying for nowt but at face value on big group of 60+? is going to be a nightmare and fast/med/slow groups sounds like a good idea. Wouldn't want a split along LB / TLB lines.

Top marks for organising the thing though. Looks like it's going to be a legendary event!

I'll put my hand up and say I'm not interested in going on a slow ride with a large group. Good thing is that MattC has said he will take the lead of this large group so I'll be happy to meet you all at your lunch time location '<img'>

I'd like to make clear that my lack of interest in being part of this large group ride is in no way a reflection of my views towards Clint’s legendry accomplishment. You have done very well mate '<img'>

just a thought, is anyone going on an unfaired bike and fancy taking a slower paced ride, i know i said i couldnt make it but guess there is no reason i cant take the blade, just means i cant keep up with the bikes going too fast
so is anyone else going to be riding at a slower pace ?
if so i will prob try to make it

As I understand it, this ride will be strictly within speed limits, and not much if any Autoroute.  So 90kph will be the normal top limit.

One group is perfectly feasible in France (unlike the UK) if everyone behaves.

Hi Jimc, While I agree with what you are saying about a large group being feasible more in France than the UK. My issue is that I have places I want to see and it looks like (not taking into account the miles in the UK) I will be doing around 400miles while over there (so around 550 for the day '<img'> )

Anyway, I have a map of where I want to go and will also have it on Sat-Nav. Note for those who are bad for directions here in the UK. Please think about asking a mate for their Sat Nav or getting a good map - better safe than lost.

i will be honest, if i was on the gixer i think its obvious i would be doing a faster paced ride, as much as i will be riding at a slower speed i would say to those who want a faster ride to just go for it, you know you want to and how often do you get to do this

the thing that gets me is that all you people say they  dont wanna ride in a large group because they  dont know who theyre  riding with, but when the poeple who say they dont wanna ride in a large group went on the kills spills rally did they moan then because it was a large group and they didnt know each other, did they moan on the unity event no i dont think they did.
So whazt gonna happen on the mayday ride out are you nnot gonna go as youi dont like riding in a large group or are you gonn a just go down there on your lonesome and thenm hav e to join a crowd of bikers that you dont know just to get to the seafront, i bet you wouldnt know them would you,

so why all the moaning about one big group

clint has done hard work in putting this trip together from a little help from his mates and myself, did i see any of you stand up and say right ill lead the fast group etc because some of us wanna go for a blat, did anybody turn up to a meeting whichn was posted up, no they didnt, '<img'>

can i just point out that the unity, kills spills rides were very very big events riding through london, not out on open roads where people of differant abilities on different bikes could ride as and how they wish,
i dont think the ones who like to ride fast should not have as much fun because they haver to slow down, and neither should the slower riders feel intimidated into keeping up with the faster bikes, if people wish to seperate into a few groups let them, i dont see what the fuss is about

Clint, This is going to be a friggin disaster if you try to police such a large event with marshalls who talk like that.

IMO everyone has booked their tickets, Everyone knows where your meeting for Lunch and everyone knows what time they have to be back for the train. We are talking about grown men and woman here, not friggin schools kids visiting the local petting zoo. I think too much planning (if thats what you call it) has gone into this. Like I said last night, You done a great job in getting people to come so just let them do their thing and you enjoy your day. Can you remember how this started? I do, You wanted a ride out with a couple of mates on some new roads?! So enjoy your ride and bugger the rest of em, See em at lunch and wave good bye to them when you get back off at Calais.

After seeing you last night I dont think you are enjoying this and thats what ride outs are all about! ENJOY IT! '<img'>

Did'nt do the kill spills or the mayday (for a few years because of the large group accident's) Clint has done a great job but I want a blat and not in a large group my choice. Which I beleive Clint is ok about so no need to spout off about people you dont know.

See you all for lunch in France

Actually ginger after re-reading your post I think you got the wrong end of the stick. If you look at the list you will see that a majority of the riders are from your crony, so yer, I would we riding down to the see front to meet with people I dont know. Have a nice ride.

Having a laugh? Kill spills, Unity? This is a ride that has grown out of control and not an event which had reason behind it. Clint, well done on getting us together for this ride. I'll get you a beer next time out.

Just to note, Saint has Sat Nav, Flying Scot has the map I sent him and I have extra locations to make our ride a good laugh '<img'> . This is me putting my hand up '<img'>

I don't often post sensible, well though out posts... but just this once I'll give it a go (no promises tho)!

I've become more than a little concerned about how large this has become, but I think the number of people going reflects how well organised it has been - to bring 2 groups from different sites together (even if some of us frequent both sites) hasn't been easy.
There are some riders amongst the group who are much faster and some who are slower, it's inevitable - different levels of skill, experience and confidence. I think the safest option would be for the large group to break up. The really fast riders are likely to get frustrated and the newer riders may feel pressurised into going faster than they are really comfortable with. I'm guessing that there will still be a large group of 'in between' riders who will stick together.

And, if you end up with riders you don't know at lunchtime, say hello. What's the worst that can happen? It's not like saying hi leads to a lifetime commitment of buying teas... altho... '<img'>
