Wed spot for north londoners?
« on: 21, February, 2007, 04:16:06 PM »
Since the south londoners meet at Box/Chef on Wednesdays, its a bit far for us in the better part of london (north lon obviously '<img'> )

So can anyone think of a good spot to meet up at on Wednesdays around the north lonodn area, apart from Ace?
RIP Ali.

Great idea.  How about High Beech?  They have a burger / coffee van there and its not far from me.

Ah funny you should say that but we have a pub near us that we think would make a good meet - we were discussing it with Jan & Do the other day.  It used to have a Triumph meet there so must like bikers and it does good food and real ale too.

We were planning to go up and see the landlord and ask if we could meet there and Wed was our preferred day.

The cafe at high beech isn't open in the evening, and its also a reputed dogging spot after dark  ':p'
A decent pub nearby though is the forest gate inn, or the robin hood.
The forest gate inn sells decent beer too!

Yer box hill roundabout is a nice surface now which is good.

Arrrgh long story Chritsine, MY fault (as always) I was coming though Richmond and approaching a pedestrian crossing. THe lights were still on red and as I pulled up to the lead car I started to pull across the front of him (lights still on red). The chap in the car decided to jump the red light and hit me lol. He stopped when he heard the clunk and I laid the bike on his wing. I looked at the lights (still red) looked at him (Im still sat on my bike, both feet on the pegs put banked over on his car) and he mouthed some nasty words at me. So I knocked on his window but must have had my had clenched so I hurt my hand I knocked 3 or four times lightly and the situation was resolved.

The rest of the ride was full of crap traffic, Chelsea tractors etc, 15 miles of HELL from Ealing to Box. I MISS LIVING AT WDZ's house. CAN I COME BACK JOHN? '<img'>

'<img'>   '<img'>  you scared the life out of me with that 'knocking'. God knows what you did for the guy's blood pressure... he was a stupid c*nt anyway - you did him a favour by pointing that out to him.

I'm still not riding with you again though  '<img'>

It does weekdays at least in the summer.  Bikers go there Wednesday evenings apparently, plus of course Sat and Sun mornings.  We sometimes do rides from High Beech up to SB weekends in the summer.

There is a bike club meets in Ware on a Wednesday night too apparently - called "Weavers MCC"   '<img'>  '<img'>  '<img'>

Silver ball would be pretty cool.

There are also some nice pubs with big car parks in Shenley, Radlett way too if that area is of interest to anyone. That would be a good compromise as silver ball is quite far north for londoners shenley/radlett/london colney would be a good compromise. I am happy to go with someone to some of the pubs to ask permission if we could meet there sumer evenings. I am sure they would welcome the extra business.

RO won't joining us as it will take him some time to recover!   '<img'>  '<img'>

Terry the pub we are hoping will like some more biker custom is in Newgate Street Village!  I suppose we could go in the Landy since my bike is off road still!   '<img'>

Or walk of course - mind that road is sooooooo dangerous - there is a way round the nasty bit but it adds a couple of miles to the journey and five miles is a damm long way to walk in this weather!   '<img'>
