I’ve just been reading in todays Metro that it’s London fashion week and apparently there’s been some protests about the ‘stick thin’ models that are employed by the various designers.
So girls and boys, lemmie ask you this . . .Why?
Why do fashion designers think that their clothes look better hanging off of these emaciated females?
I know that we’re all physically attracted by different things but personally I think a women with ‘curves’ is so much more attractive.
Does anybody think that the super thin physique is ‘sexy’?

I'm led to believe that because many male designers are homosexual they prefer their models to look like boys, rather than girls. That was a sweeping generalisation, but I'm going off a friend of mine who studied it for her sociology degree.
Oh and the material costs less if you model is only made of bone.

The reason for the slim body is because you are looking at the clothes and not the girl 34C with a 12 waist fresh from page 3. Also, they talk of thin girls making it easier to make the clothes move around. Maybe this is a follow up to what Trigg has said about the materials costing less if your skin and bone?

Most women are unhappy with their bodies and the shape they are and any amount of you guys telling us that you like curvaceous women will fall on deaf ears Im afraid but thank you anyway for trying to make us feel better about ourselves!!!!

tell us how you really feel Si lol
Personally I would hate to look like a catwalk model, I mean there's not much danger of that or owt, but they look fairly unsavoury to me. Slender and in proportion yes, emaciated, no.
A close 'friend' of mine said to me the other day while I was whinging about some 'spare'.... "you notice the bits you don't really want me to see, but I don't see those, I see all of you as a whole person and [censored]"

I think a size 8-10 is perfectly good enough to show the clothes of nicely without having to resort to stick thin girlies.
Not that it will ever change they will continue to use them and we will continue to say it is wrong. Designers really are a weird lot and do not live in the real world, they think the models need to look like they draw them. So until they learn to draw we are stuck with stick figures.

I think by modern definition, yes, it's "sexy" to have a SKINNY body so the limbs are accentuated and therefore movements are more observable and it all goes together for those who are more visual orientated.
Not that I am that way inclined.... But I bet if I was skinny like that physically, I would probably really enjoy the attention.

None of this really has anything to do with men. All this thin stuff is about how we are seen in the eyes of other women, and I suppose gay men as was mentioned. Women are jealous and fierecly competative and no matter how many men tell us we are beautiful it makes no difference. Ungreatful eh?
Of course that doesn't apply to me, just generalising from what I've seen as well as all those women who say it's not fair that I'm sooo skinny. I am not btw they are just fat that's all.
