So why doesn't one of our techie persons find away of spaming the spamers so they just f$%k off somewhere else?

More to the point how do they (the spammers) know I need Viagra / penis extension?)

I'd like to find out who it is that is giving out my email address to these spammers. Every day I get at least 20 spammers offering me adivce on stocks & shares, medical enhancements, drugs and university degrees from America. I'd simply go around to the persons house and express my displeasure and insist they stop passing on my contact details henceforth. It'd be an awful situation if the person in concern were to get personally aggressive about my visit and fall guilty of a common assault against me. That would mean that I'd be in a postion to have to defend myself.

My "Blocked Senders list" now has over 3000 address in it.

I hardly get any. I used to get impotence advice after sending off for a sperm-count kit for a mate with no PC, but not any more. I don't take any particular steps to avoid it. Got one this morning - first in a couple of weeks.

i can tell you that if you have a domain with mail forwarding to yourself, that you WILL get tonnes of spam mail.

mind you, some of the products are quite good. i've had a hard on for 4 days now.

Spam messages are not sent directly to you most of them are dictionary attacks which means it works in the following steps:

Scan internet for open smtp server
Send from "random e-mail address"
Send to a@google.com
send to b@google.com
send to c@google.com

And it will carry on like that up to about 7 or 8 letters, going aa, ab, ac and so on that way they just hit everybody they dnt care about bounce back messages as they dnt use their own servers, the systems cost them nothing to put in place as its not their server and just a piece of coding, so best thing is to have numbers and letters in your e-mails address, that way you will stop most spam but not all of it as some now includes numbers and characters in the coding

The thing that pees me off at the mo is that someone who has my name in their address book obviously has a virus because I keep getting mails saying that a mail I sent has been rejected for a variety of reasons. They are coming from all over the world and I have no idea who might possibly have the virus - not necessarily a mate could be a company with whom i am registered for something. We know it's not me sending them as apart from the fact that I have good virus protection, it was happening all the time we were in Toronto and my PC was switched off! arrgghhhhh
