have to admit, i like the guy, have met him twice, and he was generally a down to earth nice bloke, was cool to chat to and didnt shun you away because you were beneath him like so many famous people do, and as for swearing, come on, who doesnt swear a little, hell, every other word that comes out of my mouth offends at least one person, lol

Although I don't know him I do know several people who do and whilst doing the Paris Dakar one of our mates was regularly sneaked in by Charlie to the free food/resticted area on the trip and spent some time with the crowd and off camera away from some of the nobs he said that he was great fun.

Him and Ewan and I guy we know supposedly got pulled riding on a beach in Wales which they were not supposed to be on, but managed to get off with it once the copper recognised them. They were practising for the Long Way Down the next programme which takes them overland to South Africa.

However that said I don't know him myself so can't really comment wouldn't mind being in his place though.
Camping time where's me tent..

Well, maybe someone here has met him, judging by the opinions of him. I have met him.

Mikey, I have met the guy twice, Luvly fella. He was very chatty and he even remembered my name at Donnington (lucky guess me thinks).

I think that If I had not of met him I may be a little envoius of what he has achived. So What, his mate is a film star and has the power to make things happen, My mates a Yami dealer, I get cheap servicing, Does that make me a twat?

I belive in judging people on what they are like to me. Look at what he has done!!! Wildcat said it hersen, He falls off on bits she stays on at, He's an inexpericnecdd rider making the most out of the oppurtunities he has been given. Good luck to him the t***  '<img'>  (only kiddin_)

You all know it took a Scotsman to make him what he is!

We're all Jedis!

On a serious note, I met him once and he was sound. It's not like you can please everyone.

Charley Boorman does his thing and we all do ours. Change channel, skip the article in the mag or walk away from the bloke if you see him.

Unless of course you know he's somewhere on another forum slating you! In that case lamp the twat!

Same here. We saw him at the BMF. Seemed an OK guy.
It's Ewan that always seems to be the big 'I AM'(not that I've met him yet)
It's not 'IF', it's 'WHEN?' and 'HOW BAD?'

Ok, my point was, and pehaps I should have been more eloquent, that he irritates me on TV . . . He might well be "sound" or "down to earth" or "sorted" . . .and Im sure he is. . . but he gets on my thrup'neys on TV . .  Yes I can change the channel . . . and I DID change it . . watched 10 mins of the Dakkar thing n turned it over . . .

So, in summary . . it wasnt meant as a personal attack on Mr Boorman, who Im sure is an absolute delight, and I hereby regret any undue upset or misrepresentation caused, the comment was made without prejudice and without prior knowledge of the aforemention Mr Boorman on any kind of personal level, therefore I amend my original statement as follows . . .
