Ally pally - my thoughts...
« on: 29, January, 2007, 07:09:02 AM »
The show was a great success for us!

When the idea was first banded about, with only 2 weeks to go, my initial thought was of concern, that we'd look like an unorganised rabble and everything would be cobbled together... i was worried it might be a clusterf**k basically.

Firstly, well done Rich (burger) for grabbing the bull by the horns at the start and getting the ball rolling. I think it would have been much harder to orchestrate without that initial push.
Tanya, for organising things on the stand, she has been a trooper! But with less swearing...
Sam (snap) for giving up effectively 4 days to make sure he was always on the stand so there was always 1 point of contact each day.

Thats the first 3 names, but there are loads more! dodge, colin (blagmeister), stem, mr rizla, yeti, hellsbells (she cracks me up! ), trigg, in fact, too many names for me to remember! But everyone that gave up some time to help out, wether it was setting up, taking down, being on the stand for a few hours or a few days - well done all! '<img'>

it was great to meet peeps that i've not met before, and having a stand like that was a great meeting point!

well done everyone - we're getting ourselves firmly established amongst the right people (blueflame called me to say that they're practically bankrupted now) as not just another forum, but as a strength.

It's what we do best, look at the Unity Ride in 2005, only three weeks to put it together, no worries '<img'>
Ally Pally was amazing and showed what a great team we are, everyone had something to offer and all those skills put together produce a fantastic result and we enjoy ourselves to boot!
Alex and Trish were knackered, but kept thanking me for a great day, when they should have been thanking you guys and gals. ':lurve:'

TLB doing what we do best

The guys from Blue Flame were ace.... their faces at seeing dodges old battered exhaust  '<img'> They also invited us up en mass to have a tour of their workshop and production..... so that might be a nice visit to arrange later in the year.

I feel a run being planned, suppose 1st question should be, where is there workshop '<img'> am sure more than a few of us would find it an interesting tour, we just need straight jacket for Scorps, or has he worn out his blaging skills '<img'>

what most of you wouldnt of seen through the days we was there was not tha fact we sold dvds (well done to all that sold any) but the contacts and interest from companys and people that are interested in helping us with our further ventures there was a lot of stands that not only gave us stuff for the raffle  but also showed great interest in what we are going to do in the future, Blue flame where great giving support for our racers  large discount for members that bought stuff ,offering to put our dvds on there stand at the exell show and even suplying a band to play at the nxt unity ride , super bike gave a subscription for the raffle but wer equally interested in giving us coverage when we do unity ride 2 same goes for lady biker magazine who done the same

harris racing said they would be interested at unity 2 to come and put up a display

there was loads that pledged some help
i think tanya has a list
and we should post them on here of all the firms that gave

also theres a number plate firm doing show plates that have our artwork so you can have a plate with TLB eyes in the background at a good price a few of us had them done at the show

so all in all this show wasnt all about raising money but networking and showing what a fantastic Resourceful friendly and passionate  group of people we all are

SO WELL DONE TLB this stand made showed we aint just a motorbike forum on the web but a group that is capable of doing whatever we put our minds to and still have a family feel to it

makes one proud to be part of all this EH!

I agree with Trouty here and I was thinking before the show how this could have all gone so wrong. I was not wanting people to come past our stand and think what a bloody joke. For a start this would have put a bad spin on the Untiy Ride if the group did not at least look the part to be pushing what was such an important show of unity by bikers in and around London. At the same time making the push for UR2 a lot harder. Also, I wanted other bikers to see the difference between an internet forum group of people and that of our group. I think we done this well with the movies from the Germany trip, pictures from the seaside party, wheelie school day and many more times where we all got together. Also, being able to show the Unity Ride on the projector gave a lot of people the chance to see what the day was all about. IMO, we got this bang on and I was well happy with it yesterday when I was standing outside the stand with Tori and Callum.

Most people would have spent a good 2months+ sorting out how they were going to set up things on their stand and the very important thing of having someone on the stand at all times. In the short time that we had I think the likes of BB, Snap and Burger were out standing in getting things sorted. HellsBells was out of this world in her push on the DVD's sales and Scorps on getting a great deal on........ANYTHING ( '<img'> ).

I'd like to thank those of TLB for another great time out and about  '<img'>
Hope you are making jokes and have a smile on your face my Danish diplomatic friend. Long may your memory live!

Blue flame not far from where mum and dad live (well -ish anyway). I propose a weekend that takes in the roads of Lancashire/South Lakes coupled with a trip to factory. That'll be a long weekend then.

Its a damn shame, but not surprising. In the time it took Saint and Matt to get to Ally pally (i.e. Herne Hill to Muswell Hill, different hills though) t'other night, they could have got to Wolverhampton from a standing start at Earls Court '<img'>
