Hi all - just a little note to let you know about something we're putting together for all bike groups in London.

We've set up a google calendar that you can subscribe to or intergrate into your site - it will contain all the bike related events in and around the London area. Each site / group is being given admin access to the calendar and any site / group can put up their own events. We'll also be adding all the Ace events etc.

It's a great way for anyone to see what's going on where over the whole of London regaurdless of what site / group they are members of.

You can see the calendar here

http://www.google.com/calenda....gle.com

or (if this works) press this button

to subscribe.

You can also subscribe to the calendar using your own calendar application on your PC by using this iCal link

http://www.google.com/calenda....sic.ics

If someone from TLB wants to be added to the admin list please drop me an email and I'll add you :-)

Matthew

I think many groups have their own calendars and this isn't to replace it - it's juat a one calendar stop shop for all public events happening in London :-)

Hi Matt, just a little question. If you put together your two footnotes what site do you come up with? ''

Good luck for the calender, I hope that you are able to get strong interest to make it worth while. As for me, I'm happy with the TLB calender as this is where my friends tell me what they are doing '<img'> . In saying that I think that we are very lucky that there is a lot of people here that love to ride, chat and most of all have a laugh.
Hope you are making jokes and have a smile on your face my Danish diplomatic friend. Long may your memory live!

Thanks Matt - I've already been asked to add a TLB person to the calendar admin and have done so - so hopefully some of your public ride outs will start to appear for everyone to enjoy - the more bikers in London know the better!

We've (LB) also been approached by several TLB members asking if they can put ride outs in our ride out section - I've said yes and have offered as much support as I can - perhaps we'll see our first joint LB and TLB ride out soon?

Just a little question here Matt. Do you think that if DM had not Reg the .com for TLB and we were still working from .net you would have Reg the TLB.com site? I'd love to know the answer as it IMO you would have and it would be good to know if I'm wrong here.

wouldn't be the first one  '<img'>

But on the subvject of ride outs for all forums - am just checking with Sam about what date for the fallen bikers memorial ride out this year - as i think having it on first weekend in August so as to be near Ali's birthday would be good idea.   This calender would be very useful for that so that other people did not use the date.

Dan will post on LB anyway when the date sdorted so if we can post in a general calendar even better.

No probs Weaver - Yamaha Riders Do It Better now has admin access to the calendar so can add events - I'll make sure Dan let's me know too.

That's one of the main reasons for this pan group calendar - when it comes to things like organising bike ride outs like kill spills or fallen riders run you can see if anything else is on when you're organising things.

Hi Matt - sorry to go off topic - you appear to have a problem with my blog address? I'm sorry but I don't follow your issues... I didn't know anything about .net or .com addys for tlb - as far as I'm aware and as long as I've been coming here it's been .com

I've written a blog for a long time, the address has always been matthewcashmore.com but as I started to concentrate on writing about biking and biking in London I started looking for URLs that were relevent. I registered the domain back in July of this year when I was only just aware of tlb and wasn't involved in the running of lb.

There's nothing underhand going on here - it's my own personal blog - isn't connected to my day job or my involvment in LB.

Is there an issue here?
