My club went to that pub once. We were camping at Ambleside, on our week in the Lakes after the Simmer Dim rally in Shetland (mid summer, though, not winter).
It was folk music night and we managed to convinced some of the players that the 'Captain Pugwash' theme was a sea shanty.

It's a cool pub, full of tourists and locals who are generally complete headcases. I was there for bonfire night year before last and to say they had a scant regard for the firework code would be an understatement I had a blinding evening, almost literally...
