So how has your year gone?

I was just mooching over a cuppa and thinking about highlights of the year, what enjoyed and what I am gonna change for next year.

I really wanna know about the good bits of this year for each of you and how you think its gone.  The first meet up of 2006 is when I met TLBers for the first time and it seems like a hell of a long time ago with lots happening in between.

So what were the good bits and how will 2006 be cast in your memory?

Well apart of course from joining this forum and meeting loads of lovely peeps - the highlight for me would be the marriage blessing - fantastic day - and wonderful husband!   '<img'>

Some days I could do without - like this morning finding one of my cats bleeding where a car had hit her and rushing her to the vets.  Thankfully it looks like it is just her jaw broken and bruises and shock, but it was damm scary.

Halved my meds recently though - that was another good bit!

Had to retire from work - too ill to be able to return - seemed bad at the time but I suspect in long run will be good even if pension is peanuts!  '<img'>

Also, despite the not so nice things that happened elsewhere  '<img'>     we met our good friends Dan and Jo there and that was a damm good thing that happened to us this year - meeting them I mean!   Not to mention young Terry and Karen also of course '<img'>  '<img'>

Alba, I completly agree with you, it has been one helluva year for myself and family. However, also being brought one good thing this year makes it seem not that bad !   '<img'>  '<img'>

This year I moved from Leeds to London, involving new job, new friends, new house etc. Took a while to adjust...

Also ditched my girlfriend of 3 years.

...Hopefully 2007 should be much better as I'm more settled and have some direction back in my life!

Good thing - getting engaged to Westie  ':lurve:'
Bad things - family health issues

Its been a tough year all round but with some good bits intermingled!!!
I hope that 2007 will be a great year for my family and all our friends! '<img'>

Can't beleive the year is nearly over, where did it go? Managed to cram quite a bit into this year with a new job taking up a lot of my time but very rewarding. A few good rides and TLB trips to Cornwall an Scotland the last of which was my last bike ride before falling ill with a nasty gastric disease which has left me a shadow of my former self. OK yeah there weren't that much of me before. Looking forward to 2007, getting back to the bikes, job 2 and possibly starting on job 3.

The TLB ride to the Nurburgring is my highlight of the year, I just remember it as being such a brilliant trip, the ride through the pouring rain all the way there, the sweeping mountainous roads that awaited us on our arrival, the warp speed effect of going at maximum speed along a empty autobahn, yet being serenely aware of all your fellow riders around you who appear to be frozen in time, (  thinking about it has made me go all poetic '<img'> )
Still I had a brilliant time.

The downside for me every year is the same thing, Winter '' , need I say any more.

Nah, the government facility still keeps me busy, but I escaped from domestic drudgery to biker freedom again  '<img'>

Looking forward to more time off next year (for good behaviour  '<img'>  )

2006 has been very good for too many reasons to mention. But 2007 looks, from here, to have it well beaten....for me.

Looking to do the TT Centenary and the NW200 as a stag do next year and I'm best man at both my best mates weddings....

If however the below article holds any truth the cake will be well and truly iced!

According to the AC/DC fan site Crabsody In Blue, The Mirror newspaper in the U.K. (Irish edition) reports that AC/DC have been asked to headline next summer's spectacular in Slane, Ireland.

Bosses are banking on the group to sign a contract for a massive one-off show before 90,000 fans and help it become Ireland's music Mecca again.

Secret negotiations have been taking place to lure the band to Ireland for a rare appearance.

Slane suffered a huge blow over the past two years when EMINEM cancelled a sold-out gig in 2005 and no act signed up this year.

A source revealed: "At this stage AC/DC are the number one target for Slane 2007. The show would be a huge hit and help Slane become the talk of the music world again.

"AC/DC are one of the biggest selling bands in history and they would definitely sell somewhere as big as Slane out."

AC/DC have sold over 160 million albums since they launched in 1973.

They are also negotiating outdoor concerts in London, France and Germany next summer.

2006? Decidedly mediocre.

Nothing really bad (so far. Still time for it to go wrong), but nothing really outstanding either.

Had quite a few good surfs though. This year's hurricane season was spot on  '<img'>

I'll remember 2006 for being a very busy year, always on the go and lots happening. Adventure, misadventure and nightmares.

A good number of happy parts, far too many sad ones but I’ve managed to just keep smiling.

Roll on 2007 - Its gonna be a belter, I feel it already.  What’s the plan and what am I looking forwards to already?

More bike training
My first track day
TLB SPAIN trip!!!!
Possibly a new set of wheels or maybe an additional set of wheels
Taking my Dad to Box for his maiden run after passing his CBT (come on Dad!'<img'>
I wanna have a go at off roading
A long hot summer
The TLB Beach Party - Dancing on a beach like a loon

Roll on 2007!!
