No, pieman, you are right to think so, but to a degree, my post was meant to be both serious and sarcastic, you couldn't argue that it's true: you only need to get a few miles away from North London to find yourself in lovely country lanes just out of the M25 in Radlett there are some beatiful roads out there, which I found out by mistake trying to avoid the M25 traffic.
Another example is Bromley in South East London, thanks to the TomTom Rider's "no motorways and shortest route" selection, one day I was going from Bromley to Lewisham and found some amazing back roads, and all the time the road signs were swapping from SE16 to Kent and back.... which meant I was riding on the border of London, into Kent and back and I didn't even know it.

The title of this post isn't really very helpful to anyone who I going for a ride and looking for roads in a certain area.

can't see how casting aspersions on our fine capital would endear oneself to The London Bikers
But having said that I'd be interested in good routes in/out of London, as I am sure others would be, avoiding major roads and making the process less painful if you have something more specific ?

yeah, can't stand the place myself, I am in the process of a gradual movement outwards in the general direction of the south of france, started in Herne Hill and got to Bromley so far, hoping to move on further in a few years til I eventually get to the coast, going to take while I think but everyone needs at least one ambition in life

As the say in life 'build a bloody bridge and get over it!'. No point to search for topics to start something unhelpful unless that is what you are after?
Back to the topic. Roads in Spain that don't have snow on them, roads in Germany around where the Ring is and roads in France where Burger was leading last year. Just about any road where you have the sun on you back and music in your ears

lol, not all all I think you know that. Issue is that I've not long finished a training course on 'bullying in the work place' and it opened my eyes to many a paragraph used in what many would view as "very unhelpful".
But as you said 'The thrill is gone' for you here. I'd like to know what you are doing to bring it back to where you would like it?
My view on TLB is that my mates are here and I still enjoy my time both on the site and in the presence of TLB members.

"The thrill is gone" doesn't necessarily mean it's gone for me alone, look at the activity ratings and the head count even on "peak times" I think other have felt the same and an exodus has already taken place. Nothing to do with me, I am the first one that would like to see this place active and friendly.
can you
please
not bore me any longer with your "I have friends here, I love them" cause I've already heard it a few times, and I don't give a monkey's thanks.

Exodus? If you know of these people who have done this and think like them then why not follow them? Or is the thrill still here for you to do some fishing?
I'm trying to rack my brains of anyone of my mates who has left the site by choice? Please feel free to help me out here as I'm a little lost. You never know, the views of the "exodus" people may bring about change at TLB as we would not want to have quality people leaving us
'>
Just something you may want to note about TLB Fran. It's the quality of the people here and not the amount of people that keeps many here. Many have come and gone and many more will come and go. If 50 join up and only 2 are good people then I'd only be happy for 2 to stay. No good having many when many of them are smiters
