I was pulled over for the first time ever in the very early hours on Saturday.  They just wanted a chat about the speed I was doing through the empty one way system in Kingston, oops...... 3 - 4 lanes of curves and twisties that I couldn't resist but a very stupid thing to do admittedly.  In my defense it was deserted of people and cars  ':blush'

Just curious as to how many time you have been pulled by the cops this year

I've not been stopped by the Police for about 6 or 7 years.

Though it's possible that attempts have been made to stop me that I didn't notice...

I love the Kingston one way system, I'm always racing people on there. There is a rumour that if you maintain an average speed on 60mph you can link up all the green lights.... '<img'>

You must have been really unlucky or really unobservant to get stopped by the police on there too..

Only time I've recently (last few years) been stopped on the bike is on the way to last year's XMAS toy run! Apparently, tinsel is not ideally suited to covering the headlight.... Humbug! '<img'>

Been pulled a lot this year '<img'> and all for speeding '<img'> . As yet have not had a ticket as the cops have been good and just looked over the bike, had a chat with me and checked the details and then told me to slow down.

Bad luck on the getting a tug but at least no points and money handed over '<img'>

I last time I got stopped was when I undertook some guy on the motorway who wouldn't move out of my way, and he phoned the police on me, I got stopped about 20 miles further on, and what was so funny about it was the police officer trying to keep a straight face while trying to tell me why I had been stopped. mind you that was more than 5 years ago and has been the only time i've been stopped. thats crap, different times of day the sequenses change, not sure why, maybe its to do with traffic flow, living in kingston ive ridden it more times than ive had hot dinners, and although you can get the lights right very rarely can you make it all the way round more than once
best time is late at night, the timing of the lights is best then

Haven't actually been pulled for a few years, but I was worried last night.
On my way to work I drive throgh the village at the end of my  road (one of the ones that will be destroyed when they build another runway at Heathrow). There is a no through road at the far end which is blocked to some vehicles by steel & concrete bollards. Of course this doesn't stop bikes. I approached the bollards last night and saw there was a police car parked the other side of them. I thought a bit and proceeded through them and went on my way - after all, I have been going that way to work for three years without worries.
I assumed that, if I turned tail and went the long way round, they would wonder what I was hiding and start searching for me, or something (paranoia).
It's not 'IF', it's 'WHEN?' and 'HOW BAD?'

I find it annoying that a policemans (or womans) judgement is used when deciding whether to prosecute a motoring offence.

Seems to me that if there is evidence to support the fact that you did something wrong then you should get hauled up for it and let the court decide.

If your the sort of person who can charm a policeman then you stand a better chance of getting away with it. Catch a copper at a bad time for him/her and your stuffed. Say the wrong thing, etc, etc

Seems to me that if your going to have laws that make any sense then they should be applied to everyone, all the time, consistently, regardless.

It's the people who are decent enough to follow the laws in the first place that get the biggest shafting when they break them...  '<img'>

You have a point there John. There are laws that may need looking into and a review could be needed. In relation to a copper having the choice on what to do I think this is worth keeping. Otherwise we are running down the road of sat-nav Britain '<img'> and I'd hate that.  Some times people are pulled over and in the first couple of words or their body language talks them into a ticket. Its strange how far a little respect will go if you have done something wrong '<img'>

I was just having a little rant ':blush'

Still, I hate the idea that if I get pulled for something that I have obviously done wrong it'll be a proverbial lottery whether I get nicked for it or not depending on the way the police person happens to be feeling about me or themselves or the world in general !

You must agree that having the lottery is a lot better than having a tracker on each bike and when you get home from a ride were you were doing 78mph on the M1 there is a thank you letter from Gordon Brown for your extra funding to his big brother ideas '<img'> .
But as I never speed I agree with you here ':p'

I am ashamed to admit it now, but when I was about 18 I got tugged doing 60 in a 30 zone (in my mum's sports car tho, in my defence). As it goes I had a partticularly short skirt on and plenty of slap, on my way to a night out in my slenderer days, and the copper leaned on my car roof and chatted for about 10 minutes after which he asked me out for a drink. '<img'>

He had a face like a slapped arse, so I said no, but no ticket either! Result!

There we are, proves my point '<img'>

Though some of the best arses I've seen have been freshly slapped ones '<img'>
