Hey Karen and welcome to the other side. Have to say my initial good feeling about this site has somewhat diminished today, as it seems to be the same old stereotypical shit about those of us who prefer to commute by scooters. I thought it was only the other lot but I could not have been more wrong.

Welcome Karen and we don't all hate scooters I rode one for years to work and there are good and bad in every type of driver/rider. Must admit I found it easier than the bike and was also faster than a lot of the bikes.

Hiya Karen and about time too. Sun is over the yardarm so I'll have a glass of chilled Frascati please!
'>
SL: They are nice peeps on here - as Matt said he might not like scooters but it doesn't mean everyone doesn't and he is just stating his opinion and would certainly not mean anything personal - he is a good guy!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion as is your freedom of choice to buy a scooter and ride like a complete A***. Im sure that you dont ride like a complete A*** but right now your coming accross as one!
I actually owned a scooter for a short period of time, After a few near misses with cars and pot holes+small wheels I thought It would be best to get rid. My Speedfight 50 was my first ever road bike. I will also buy my kids one when they are sixteen.
All I can say is welcome, we are a good bunch with a great sense of humour, we all ride and thats what counts. In addtion we are varied riders, Some stunt, some race, most tour and WE ALL meet to chat have fun and get on. I have been on BIG ridouts with sccoters, 125cc supersports etc etc etc but If your gonna come with that F****** chip on shoulder be a good sport and bring some fish and curry sauce with it!
Good day to you!

Welcome Karen, good to meet you. I have a scooter too, but it's one of those ones you power with your right foot
'> Still, it's great for ploughing over those foolish geriatrics who stop in the middle of the pavement for no good reason... 50 points each!!

Burger, where is the love....
'> I think to stay true to the freedom of writing on this site (within reason) it is best that we are able to voice our view on a type of bike. I ride scooters each year in the Greek Islands and love the mix of beer, scooter, sun glasses, beer, shorts and beer
'> Each to their own and all that. There is loads of room on the boat for everyone

Thanks for proving my point, Burger. Good day to you, too.
I dont think you needed proof, you made your own mind up before ranting on our website and making conceded points of view.
A word of advice, Ranting is a self fulfilling prophecy and if you rant about something for long enough people will join your point of view, or even worse may just turn against it.

My first bike was a GPZ305. I tend not to mention it cos it was a heap of old dog-bobs, but it got me on the road and it was black, which is the main thing
