I think I was one of the early members from the Smartgroups era but forgot all about it again. So much happens in life! Although still astride my Blade, I'm not in London any more. I'm living in France and have been for 2 years. Looking forward to reading what's going on over there. Keep safe out there.

I live in Deux Sevres, Mid West, roughly about half way down South. About 3 hours from Magny Cours and the same from Le Mans. Lots of luvly roads to fly along, keeping a weather eye open for the Gendarmes. I've had one pull! The other danger is the cow **** which appears in the biking line quite often '<img'> Even my daughter who is 14 is on two wheels now.

Had an encounter with cow poop in Yorkshire once, nearly produced my own '<img'>

Sounds lovely, gonna have a look on the map to see where you are.

Wish my Dad had got me into biking, tsk.... looks like it might be the other way round, ha ha  I've heard smatterings of CBT being uttered from him, ha ha

Thanks, I was wondering how things were back in the Smoke. My last year commuting from Surbiton to Canary Wharf was a joy, NOT. But heh, here I am still alive and riding in France. Incidently, the weather here is brill at the moment. Really good ride out weather with lots of brill roads to go out to play on. '<img'>

Recently had a day trip to Le Touquet on the bike, really easy, so could turn it into a LB weekend and come & see you next year, just find us somewhere to stay '<img'>
Can quite understand why you are enjoying it so much, no traffic to speak of and loads of bikes '<img'>
The day I went even the weather was better!

Sure thing. I'm about 6 hours south of the main ports and there are loads od B&B's around. Lot's of good roads and would you believe..... People actually move out of your way to let you through not go out of their way to kill you. the camaradery of the road is brilliant too. On-coming motorists of all guises flash to let you know if there are any Blue Meanies about cos they do hide behind things. You don't have to worry too much about Gatso's here. There are plenty of them but 500M before each one, there is a big sign telling you it's there! So as long as you heed the warning it's great. Safe riding.

Welcome to the family '<img'>

We just got back from Ireland and the roads there were terrific also but didnt see many bikes though.  We didnt take ours as had to ferry the family around but definitely will go back on the bike one day - maybe to the road races??? '<img'>
The only real time we have is now. All other times don't exist. Yesterday is a picture-postcard of a time that died. Tomorrow is a mind's eye promise that may never come.

Thanks for the welcomes. I still find the camaradery of bikers heart-warming. It restores ones view that there still are nice people in the world. Keep safe.

And greetings to you. I don't think I have been in touch with so many people on line since the old smart Groups sites. I actually got out to play today. It's just starting to get a little bit like autumn but still dry and good for a blat.

Welcome back,  some of us went to what was propably one of your old haunts last night, Rykers (box),  bloody cold on the way back, though it was after 10:30pm  ':blush':   bring on the summer...  he he! and the clocks have only just gone back  ''
I guess you don't qualify as a newbie really, but I'll ask for a brandy anyway, cos I'm cheeky...  '<img'>
Loud cans save lives.

OK tell me how a boy can grow two jacket sizes in 7 weeks??  or did Moss bros fuck up the measuring???? and its the day before the wedding..

Organizing a wedding and a funeral at the same time was never in the fucking plan.

Rykers was the first place I visited an hour after getting my new bike in '93. Just in time to see some blind old fool reverse into a bike, knock it over and say that it fell over! You're welcome to a brandy, Cognac is not very far from here, hic! Then again there are lots of luvly wines about all over the shop. See ya§

Don't have pints down my way. In fact finding a pub is a bit of a rarety! The odd bar or two in pretty villages and plenty of sources of good cheap wine. can even drive down to Spain in a matter of hours! Cheers. '<img'>

So you're in the wine country as well! slightly better weather as well. I had a quick scan through the membership and remember quite a few of the names there. Do you still get out on your bike? My rides are a bit sporadic due to work, etc. I've been out a bit more of late but that's chaperoning my daughter on her scooter. Unfortunately first and second gears are not great for trolling around. Her scooter is limited to 50K ''  I think I can walk quicker. Keep safe out there.
