I f$&£ing caught one
« on: 23, September, 2006, 06:29:16 PM »
Was at my mates place in the early hours to watch the qualifying for the motogp, when in the background I thought I heard my bike alarm, (he didn't hear a thing) so I went out to check and there was 2 guys with crash helmets on hovering over my bike, so as i ran down his path they saw me coming and legged it, and I gave chase and was catching them quick, I was thinking I gonna kill one of these guys if I catch them, they got to the end of the road and turned the corner, and as i ran around the corner I saw a bike parked up, a gsxr600 WITH NO NUMBER PLATE, instantly I thought thats got to be the bike they came on, so I stopped chasing them, checked out the bike and other than it having no number plate it was all ok, it didn't look like it had been nicked, at which time my friend appeared around the corner, said he'd phoned the police and they were on their way.
We were in agreement that this must be their bike, so we manhandle it down the road and left it outside his house. Then the police turned up and took all the details of the incident, checked out their bike and it came back not lost or stolen, as they gave the details I got the name and address of the registered owner (which I have written down), so it seems one of the guys might be the owner of the bike.
Anyway the police left and we took it in turns to watch the qualifying and the bike, then an hour later we saw a guy come walking up the road and walked straight past so we thought nothing of it, then we saw him walking back down the road, stopped near the bike then carried on, I said if he comes back again we'll jump him, then 10 minutes later we saw him come back looking around then head for the bike thats when we rush out and grabbed him, I hit him a few times then dragged him into my friends front garden, he had the key for the bike which i took from him, we were just about to stomp him proper when my friend informed me there was a police van coming up the road, they must have seen a bit of the comotion as they stopped to find out what was going on, immediately the guy admitted to them that it was him who tried to nick my bike, and he offered to pay for any damages, the police straight away put him in handcuffs and stuck him in the back of the van, checked back to there hq for the details of the incident and said they were taking him in. I asked what was going to happen to their bike and he said as it's not reported lost or stolen they can't recover it, they guy they nicked then told them I had the key for the bike, so they took it and said the registered owner can come to the station and get it  '<img'>  .

(f$ck me this is long)

The downside is I have a broken ignition barrel and a cracked top yoke, so i will be off the road until it is all sorted out,  '<img'>   . The other downside is that I never got to stomp on him some more.   '<img'>  '<img'>

Well done mate.  I had a 9r stolen and only wished i had come round the corner while they were doing it.  To be honest the damage on your bike isnt a lot and could of been a whole lot worse.  All i can say mate is well done wish i had been there!!! '<img'>  '<img'>  '<img'>

Glad you still got your bike, even with the damage!

I must admit, I had a chuckle envisaging you two giving that guy a slap!  But im also glad it all came to a satisfactory end and that you two are safe. '<img'>

I must admit I'm giggling at the thought of you waiting in the dark to beat the shite out of some unsuspecting shitbag. Ruff Justice. The only bad thing is that they can only do him for attempted theft or criminal damage, which is surely not as heinous in their eyes as if they'd actually nicked it. ''

Sorry to hear about your bike but great that one bike thief is actually caught.

If he was on his bike - ask the police if he gets to keep it or whether they can impound it (since he was riding illegally with no plate) and then sell it and give you some dosh for repairs?

little bxxders , very clever of you to notice the onther bike. Considering you were chasing them at the time to kill them, and fare play. You mess with someone's stuff, then you have to be prepared for the consequences, in others words being caught out by you.

Anyway just wanted to say you were missed on sat and sorry to hear bout your bike.

I think this is all very harsh. Maybe this guy was from a poor background, a single parent upbringing and is only trying to make ends meet.
Maybe he was just trying to earn enough to feed his children.

In Doncaster, our 'Joy riders' are given driving lessons to ensure that they can control a vehicle, thus removing some of the danger to other inconsiderate people who happen to walking on pavements and get in the joy riders way.

Didn't you even consider inviting him in to watch the practice, shre some pizza and a couple of bottles of beer? Could you not then have sent him on is way with a complimentary ticket for the wheelie school? You could have then felt safe in the knowledge that if he stole anyone elses bike, the probability of it coming back 'Undamaged' would have been a lot higher.

Your so thoughtless you lot, you've got no compassion.

PS. You should have cut his balls off

Thanks for the reply's guys, turns out this guy has got a long rap sheet for bike thefts and is well known to the police, the bikes owner (probably the one that got away) hasn't turned up for his bike as the police have the keys and it turns out it's not insured, so they want to have a chat with him anyway. (Don't know if it was him or some other scumbag who was riding it).

I've ordered the parts I need so hopefully I won't be off the road for too long.

P.s suggestions on what to do to his bike, b4 he gets it back  '<img'> '<img'>

I say put it on E-bay and ask if anyone has had one stolen. Chances are that this is a stolen bike and the onwer would love to have it back. Another idea is to take photos of the bike and I'll post them on other sites. It would be a good warning to others that if you see a bike like this and a rider like this then don't stop at home.

Hope to see you out soon Dread '<img'>
