Riding to work on Tams CG today with L plates on.....One person I nodded to nodded back.....nae beef as they were all riding like shirt-lifters anyway.....I just thought I'd see who here admits to not bothering for small bikes and learners?

I never nod to scooters....and I only occaisonally nod to Harley's (joking! )

Seems a bit offish to shun those who are attempting to join the fold.

For the record these were the same people who nod to me every Friday when on my bike.

Not wanting to be silly here but I only nod at the lights. The rest of the time I am going at a speed that needs both eyes on the road '<img'> . But I wave at people on the side of the road. Just ask Si '<img'>
Hope you are making jokes and have a smile on your face my Danish diplomatic friend. Long may your memory live!

I nod to anyone excect scooter prats. By this I mean the ones who ride in packs with full face helmets and no visors trying to shout at each other as they wobble down the road. I'm pretty destinctive on and off the bike so plenty of the 2000 bikers I meet every Tuesday say hello even though they got no idea who I am (well I got no idea who most of them they are....  )

I agree with TG I nod at everyone but the scallys on scooters......

I remeber what it was like riding around on a 125 and being ignored.

I was well chuffed the first time I got a nod, I like saying hello to our fellow 2 wheelers.

when we were in france last month all bikers wave at each other - but mopeds dont seem to take part!

as far as nodding goes ive noticed in london no fucker nods to anyone - miserable london sods the lot of us - (although maybe occasionally at lights)

but as soon as you get out of london its nod-a-rama all the way!!

i dont nod at moped riders unless they are of the fit and tasty, female variety  ':devil'

But since getting the TL, every bugger wants to know me, I feel like a bloody churchhill dog!!!  '<img'>    even couriers now nod!!  ''    oh!!  and the chicks on peds and at bus stop think I'm a God or something!!   '<img'>
edit- and some bloke on a SV keeps following me...     '<img'>

When I lived up in 'The North', virtually every biker I passed nodded / waved at me and vice versa. Only exception being the scooters and mopeds who either dropped their head in shame and looked at you as they passed to say what about me. Since I've been in London, its been a different story. Most people down here seem really miserable when riding.

I nod at most things even knowledge boys, but not at people who are riding like w****ers, there's no need to be cutting people up and scaring the cyclists. Also not at people who have spent thousands on "go faster" accessories but are dithering about like grannies, as these are the biker equivalent of the "prat in a porsche", and are a too-familiar sight.
I saw a very impressive bit of scootering this morning, he had me for breakfast, but was safe and not lairy, slipping smoothly through the traffic, really nifty and good to watch. I also was stuck for a while behind Mr Safety obeying the speed-limit in his high-viz on an SV who was getting in everybody's way and kept slamming his brakes on at gaps you could have got a car through. Was I ever glad to get past him. If I see him again I'll not be waving, but I'll stop and chat to the scooter bloke if I ever catch him.

Only exception to my rule is a fat bas**rd on a custom i pass every morning, for the last 6 mths i have always given him a nod or a wave, and every day he ignores me, so now i do likewise, bad on my part but what the heck.
Started sticking leg out instead of noddin or waving, better control of the bike '<img'>

I'd love to get a nod every now and then - I think in the last year since I bought my bike I've only had two nods

Makes me feel like an outcast just cos I've not progressed to a big bike yet.....

I agree with Tams here. Since being on the loan bike from the shop I have had bikes cut me up, cars pull out on me, pushbikes pull out on me and I've not been close to a nod '<img'>

But once the boat is back I'll get them all!!! '<img'> ':p'
