I think he is saying that with all the people booing and cursing the police it would not be in the best interests of officer safety tp get out the vehicle!
Rich i do agree with that.. Why do people boo the police anyway its something i dont understand?
What i said on my posts is i do not think its a police issue at all. We need a larger number (MattP) police force...
Its was a talk show on BBC Radio last week and 100's of people called saying that the were robbed or needed police help and all they got back as an answer was sorry all the officers at the moment are busy or not available...
" Getting backup on a Friday night for a low priority ASB is probably impossible"
Which in my eyes is an indication of short numbers... What can the poor officer do ? Its not his fault he doesnt have backup is it? No its not...

I doubt the boy in the car was daft enough to be razzin the teets off it in front of a crowd with the original reg plate....
The police would have to have got out and studied the car to see if it was stolen or not......not that many folk burn out their own perfectly good beemer....?

Why do they need to get out? They can check the car from the safety of their patrol car cant they?

XT, with plates being made in 15min it does not take long to see a car like yours and then copy the plate. I do think if it was two "storm troopers" from NSW they would have called a couple more and then got out for some fun
'> . From living in Brisbane I found the police to be very firm but also if you want to chat (not take the pi$$ ) they will talk. Difference being that if a cop was to push someone here there would be a court case. In Queensland the person who was pushed would be told to leave now or come for a ride in a paddy wagon! (I only know this from TV

Aussies cops are different for sure... In my option are more tough but more naive as well...
I didnt have much to do with them only the time that my bro and I got bashed up by 10 islanders and my brothers face was completely stuffed and when we walked in the police station full of blood and flesh everywhere the officer on the front desk asked us
" How may i help you ? " .... After 10 minutes of paper work they called an ambulance...
You have to see the cops in Greece.
In my town years back a guy stole a bike and he was running away from the bike cops and one bike cop got next to him and kicked him... The boy lost control hit a big metallic bin and died... Nobody ever complained or sued...
But maybe i live in a very unrealistic dream world and thats why i have different opinion with most about the bridge...

I think I've missed something here, but does anyone actually know the vehicle was stolen. If so what did YOU do about it?
As for peoples lives in danger.... I take it that the car was stunting on the road and people were standing at the sides of the road watching. They were not a captive audience, nobody was forcing them to be there and they could have moved away to the carpark of the Ace. This nanny state we live in can't protect people from themselves all the time. If you think you are in danger leave, if you can't leave call the police.
As for police numbers I can't speak for London, but there needs to be more officers on the streets and not tied up doing paperwork. The Bill paints too simple a picture of what the job is like and is so full of procedural errors that none of their convictions would ever get through the courts. They don't use the radio properly, they don't use their pocket note book and as for the mountains of paperwork.... I've never seen a crime report, collision investigation report, or any statements taken properly. If it was real it would sure make for borring telly though.

As far as I'm aware,
All
TLB members moved well away from the area of concern, none of them jeared the police when they turned up, and I presume someone must have called the police in because they only turned up (from my memory) on two occations when the car was stunting, this is when the driver sudenly got out and had it away on his toes!! this I believe is the reason why we believe the car to be stolen....

it was assumed to be stolen, who in there right mind would run there car or bike into the ground, this car was seriously f**ked up by the end of the night, must admit, never thought to report it as police did turn up within the 1st 15 mins when car was abandoned parked illegaly in a bus stop, they did come back about an hour or so later just after the loud bang.
All TLBers were in the car park watching from a safe distance, we like to watch stunting from a safe distance aka Bridge and where we used to park, think the closest we got was JT on top of the wee wall having a looksee

Fed up with this argument now, Dual standards in my opinion, I was stood where I wanted to be F****** standing and it turns out this wreckless T*** was driving where he wanted too which just happens to be the same place!
IMO the police are more than happy to spend the time (cos its safe for them) to book you on the A3 in the name of protecting the general public from my reckless driving (speeding at 90mph at 11pm) rather than protecting 300+ people from this P***.
I have had it with this crap, some forces are crap some arnt. Everyone live with it. In regards to traffic officers (like the ones at the Ace and they were Traffic so I can only presume they were from Northholt TD) IMO are not police officers, They are little hitlers that cant pass the fitness test, please do not mistake these dual standard munkeys from the hard working bobby on the street protecting and serving preventing real crime. I have alot of time for BOCU based officers who know what real life is and how to tackle real crime. Round of applause for them!
