Prompted by an article on the ResQTag I was wondering how many people could be positively identified in the event of an accident where you were unable to respond.

Photo ID like driving licences are great because they have full name, age, sex, and address. But even they don't give next of kin or blood group.
One of the last resorts is to PNC check the vehicle and assume you are the registered keeper.

I always have my driving licence on me when I driving or riding. This is because its a fine (and points I think) if the police pull you over without in NZ and Aus.
Hope you are making jokes and have a smile on your face my Danish diplomatic friend. Long may your memory live!

I have ICE in my phone, so they will know who to call, but never carry any proper ID, it wouldn't be a lot of help, as chances are if I crash my bike I'll not be at home when they come round to knock on the door to tell me I'm dead.

It wouldn't much matter who I was then anyway, would it.

I've got ICE in my phone too, "ICE - mum" to be exact.  I hope this isn't taken as an instruction though.  Mum's pretty fit though, and if you try to ice her, she kung fu you down.  Yep, at the age of 75, my mum took up Tai Chi.

Got my driving licence but in common with most people the photo doesn't look anything like me any more...and I don't know what my blood group is anyway. They could find any blood without sifting the gin out first and the NHS doesn't have the budget for that '<img'>

Well I'm so glad to see most people do carry identification which would help them and others in the event of an accident. I've been unfortunate enough to be at the scene of enough accidents where the rider/driver had no ID on them. If you just have 'ICE' on your mobile please change it to ICE - RELATIONSHIP. It is so much easier if you know the sex and approximate age of the person you are calling.
It also helps when the leggy blonde who was on the back of the bike wasn't the wife. I don't know what hurt him more, the accident or the wife. '<img'>

Trigs, I know what you are saying i'm actually doing more Diversity training at the moment. Diversity - recognising that everyone is different so that you can treat them all the same..... or something like that ':p'

Riz, that was the inspiration for the post. Don't look like the much need for it judging by the poll so far.
